add author to checkouts & holds lists (as it appears in circ history list)
Please add the author details to the holds lists (as it appears in the circ history list). I see many ideas about sorting holds and current checkouts by author, so I thought I would include the obvious, and ask that the author display for both lists. It does appear for circ history, and customers need this to manage their circulation.

Possibility to disable fee-payment section
We do not offer online payment to our patrons. We therefore want to be able to disable this in the account portal. Even though we can change the text in the button, we cannot disable the button and the text while the text underneath can be changed, curiously the 1, 00 kr part of the text cannot be edited. This is causing confusion for our patrons.

Keep Existing Kiosk Homepage Configuration When Upgrading to Vega Premium
This seems to be more of a bug than a feature, but if you are a Basic customer and upgrade to Premium, the one home page you've configured, which also appears on your kiosks, is removed and must be reconfigured individually for each kiosk site (as well as collection sites).
While the documentation -https://knowledge.ag-software.clarivate.com/vega-discover/admin/ConfigureHomepage.htm - states, "Vega Discover customers can configure one home page, which also appears on your kiosks. Your home page can contain a maximum of five rows of content. If you have Vega Discover Premium or if your library belongs to a consortium, you can configure…

Add More Options for "Results Per Page"
Some patrons have reported they would like more options for the "results per page" when searching -- specifically, an option for 100. The PAC gave options up to 100, but Vega Discover only gives options up to 40 per page.

Hoopla Flex records should be included in Hoopla Ingests
We have both Hoopla Flex titles and Hoopla Instant titles. We're using the Hoopla ingest, but it doesn't include records from our growing Hoopla Flex collection. Our cataloging team has been looking at manually loading Hoopla Flex MARC records into our ILS. We had previously stopped manually loading eContent records even prior to purchasing Discover simply because it is so often a losing battle to keep records in sync. We'd be made whole if we could receive all of our Hoopla records through the ingest. Previously, we were waiting for Hoopla to update their API, but I’ve been informed by…

account linking/associations
Linking accounts in the account portal appears to have no effect on patron associations in Leap. Because linking and associating accounts have similar functions and names, it makes sense to more fully integrate them with each other. For example, if accounts are associated in Leap, create the link automatically in Vega Discover rather than requiring patrons to go through the whole passphrase process, and vice versa. Having two functions that are very similarly named and do almost the same thing will get confusing for staff and patrons.

Give patron ability to add titles to Reading History
We have patrons that read books not provided by the library and would like the ability to add those titles manually into their reading history. This way they can have all of them in the same spot. I imagine this would act similar to something like Goodreads.

Add filter for circulating items
Our customers are repeatedly asking to be able to have a filter for including only circulating items (excluding reference materials). This is particularly useful for materials that are heavily collected in our Research Center and Resource Centers. If customers could limit to circulating, they could more easily find items they can check out, and we have received multiple requests for this feature.

Wording for Cookie Preferences
The current wording for the cookies is not clear to patrons. Clicking on "Manage Cookie Preferences" displays a pop-up that doesn't actually give the user any option to manage their preferences. It also includes some wording that says "the types of cookies we use are described below" without actually describing them. At the very least, a clearer description about what the strictly necessary cookies are that are being used would be helpful.

Add a Toggleable Free-Text Bibliographic Note field that displays in Vega Discover
We'd like to suggest the addition of a free-text note field available at the bib-level that would display on the resource card in Vega Discover. Our consortium is looking for solutions that would help patrons quickly and easily identify whether a title includes AI-generated content. A free-text note field that is not linked to the bibliographic record that displays in Vega would allow us to do so. This field could be used in a variety of scenarios to alert patrons to necessary information at the bibliographic record level rather than at the item level, especially since many 5XX tags are…

Sorting Volumes Numerically - Not By Digit
When a patron is looking at a monograph serial title and wants to place a hold on a volume, they click on place a hold and get the option to choose which volume they want. The volumes are listed by digit, rather than numerically. For example:
1
10
100
101
102
103
11
12
13We would like to see the volumes listed numerically (preferably with the latest volumes listed first):
103
102
101
100
99
98
97This would help patrons find exactly the volumes they are looking for, particularly having the latest volumes listed at the top.

Enhance patron reading history by including edition level metadata for serials
Patron reading history is currently of limited value for serials, like magazines and newspapers, because only the title and date checked out is recorded. Without edition level information e.g., volume, or issue number, patrons cannot reliably identify:
• Which specific magazine issue they have read
• How their reading history relates to citations, or research
This reduces the usefulness of reading history for researchers, students, and magazine readers alike.11 votes -
Spacing shouldn't affect searching in Korean
In many cases, the character spacing we use when cataloging in Korean is not the same as the character spacing someone searching in Korean will use, even though the meaning is the same in these cases despite the differences in spacing. The spacing we use when cataloging is dictated by Library of Congress rules, however, a Korean speaker won't know those rules and will type the search in the way that makes sense to them.
For example, 한 권 (with a space) and 한권 (without a space) mean the same thing, and 외워 봤니 (with a space) and 외워봤니 (without…

validate new patron accounts with email or text
New self registering patrons should be put through a validation process using either email or text. This would reduce bot access and also duplicated records if the matchpoint for either contact method is found.

Registration- prevent current users from creating new registration
Patrons who have forgotten their library card number or misplaced their card will create a new account. Others use the same process to create duplicae records to get around limits in OverDrive, Hoopla and Kanopy.
A duplicate check on key fields could help to limit access to additional records. Until a better solution can be coded, it could simply inform the patron that a record already exist with these credentials, please contact your public library.

Allow Collection Site Admins to Give Their Staff Patron Assist Permissions from User Roles
Site Admins at the collection site level should be allowed to grant/edit/remove Patron Assist permissions to their staff instead of at the Main Site Admin level.
Within a large consortium it could take hours to grant the Patron Assist permissions to all accounts. Plus, Collection Site Admins should have the ability to customize their staff as needed without consortia oversight.

Use Syndetics Summary when no 520 in Most Recent edition of a format
For rollups Vega defaults to the most recent edition which is often a paperback which has less robust information, as we do very minimal cataloging on those. There is no synopsis on the detailed page. In the old catalog, having no summary for a paperback wasn't a huge deal because the annotations gave you enough information. But in Vega, you get nothing at all unless you click on the ebook.
When there is no 520 data in the most recent edition of a format can we display the summary from Syndetics instead?

Request Volume Button for Graphic Novels/Manga
The button to choose which graphic novel volume they would like is titled "Request Any Edition," and it seems like it might be more intuitive if the graphic novels said "Request Volume" on the first button, since almost (if not all) of the rollup records for any item say "Request Any Edition." For graphic novels, once you click "Request Any Edition" it has you choose your pickup location, and then it lets you choose the volume/issue.
Having a button that instead says "Request Volume" and have the option before the hold pickup location would be more intuitive for patrons requesting…

Account portal: make Holds and Checkouts icons clickable
Make the two large purple icons, not just the text below them, link to their sections. Especially on mobile, this would be more user friendly. I find myself expecting them to be buttons. Some patrons may have to zoom in to accurately tap the text links.
It could be the icons or even the entire rectangular boxes and everything in them.
