Schedule ILS Sync for showcases from ILS lists
Right now we can use scheduler to regenerate Create Lists review results. In order for a showcase to show the latest results someone needs to manual sync the list. It's against the point to be able to schedule a list, but not be able to schedule the associated show case.
Example - I have scheduled a search to generate a list of our on order travel books. This is running daily. To update the associated showcase I have to remember to resync it.

Annotate booklists and showcases
When adding books to a booklist, we want to be able to annotate the overall list and individual titles so that customers will know the purpose of the list and how the individual titles fit into that theme/purpose. Quick annotations definitely help people decide which titles they would like to borrow.

Manage hold options should be visible in holds list without selecting a drop down menu
Library users want to be able to see a "freeze" and a "cancel" button when working with individual holds. The original idea for this topic was closed after the July 2026 upgrade, but the behaviour has not changed. I have attached an image.
Also, library users do not want to select drop down menus to manage their individual holds. The ability to freeze, cancel, or edit pickup location should be individual selections.

Ability to hide fields on account page
We need the ability to hide certain fields in the account portal that we don't have. For instance, we only want one phone number in the account, but we cannot get rid of the second field for phone numbers even though we don't allow updating those fields. Also, since the address is not mapping correctly in our displayed address fields, we would like to hide this so customers are not confused.

Integrate Ebsco Discovery Service or Explora into Vega searches
Our state has recently signed a contract with Ebsco to provide all libraries in the state with access to their Explora database system. It would be wonderful if this could be integrated into Vega searching. I have two academic libraries that would really like to see integration with EDS (Ebsco Discovery Service) as well.

Allow Collection Site Admins to Give Their Staff Patron Assist Permissions from User Roles
Site Admins at the collection site level should be allowed to grant/edit/remove Patron Assist permissions to their staff instead of at the Main Site Admin level.
Within a large consortium it could take hours to grant the Patron Assist permissions to all accounts. Plus, Collection Site Admins should have the ability to customize their staff as needed without consortia oversight.

Account portal: make Holds and Checkouts icons clickable
Make the two large purple icons, not just the text below them, link to their sections. Especially on mobile, this would be more user friendly. I find myself expecting them to be buttons. Some patrons may have to zoom in to accurately tap the text links.
It could be the icons or even the entire rectangular boxes and everything in them.

Geolocation authentication for Vega's patron registration
We would like to see Vega's patron registration to include geolocation authentication so we can limit patron registration to only those residing in NYS, and potentially just our service area.

Online Patron Registration in Discover
It would be helpful for our consortia if the new patron registration form in Vega Discover had some additional options that could be added:
-Patron preference for receiving notices (Email, Mail, TXT Message)
-Text Messaging Phone (Phone 1)
-Password [choose password here rather than link to do so later]ADD the Opt in to text messages statement
- My preference for receiving library notices:
- Phone number for TXT messages and Carrier
- Logon Information – Password
- Opt in to text messages statement
- My preference for receiving library notices:
- Phone number for TXT messages and Carrier

Site Level Showcase Roles
We are a consortium whose libraries SHOULD be able to manage their own showcases but should NOT be able to manage each others' showcases. Only we should be able to have system-wide showcase admin privileges. However, there is currently no showcase admin role at the collection site level, which means that we can't assign the showcase admin role to ANY of our libraries' staff users, since the current showcase admin role is simply too broad and all-encompassing. So we are left managing all our libraries' showcase admin tasks ourselves, which is less than ideal.
To be clear, we don't have…

What is the Problem we're solving and why?
Vega Consortia Libraries and Multi-Library Organizations would like to be able to manage showcase admin access by site. Site Level Showcase Admin Users should be able to quickly filter available showcases to those created in their Collection Site as well as retain view and use access to all showcases created by librarians in their organization.
Job Stories:
- As a Site Admin, I can assign Showcase Creators and Admins for specific sites, that are limited to creating and editing showcases in a particular site(s).
- As a Site Admin or Content Admin User, I can use the Home Page tools to filter, view, search, and find showcases that were made in the current Collection Site I am editing the Home Page display for.
- As a Site Level Showcase Creator or Admin,…

Allow Vega Showcases Created From Saved Search to Appear on Record Pages
Reopening an idea that was closed for lack of activity, but is still important to us:
Currently, only Vega showcases that are created from a set of bookmarks can be displayed on Record Pages, which is NOT an option for showcases from saved searches. In some cases, we prefer using saved searches vs. bookmarks, as they are easier to maintain. We still want to see those showcases show up on record pages. The documentation (https://documentation.iii.com/vega/admin/admin/Create_Showcase.htm) doesn't call out this limitation in the "To create a showcase from a saved search" section. We found out the hard way, after…
5 votesThis work was not done previously because it was deemed to be too much of a performance hog. In order to deliver a Saved Search showcase or 4 on a Full Title View we would need to run said searches and load the results within the view each time it was loaded.
We can see if there are new options to achieve this enhancement now if chosen by the MEEP group.

Account Linking - Fines Payment Included
We would like the ability to combine and pay fines for linked accounts. That was a selling point for setting this up. A parent could pay all the fines for all of the children’s/partner’s accounts to pay by credit card. Since we require a $5 minimum, this would be super helpful for fines for account A with $1.50 and account B with $3.50 – combining would get them over that threshold.
Currently, if you try to pay fines for more than one of your accounts, you get a message, "Fines can only be paid for one account at a time…

Default to one request button when there is only one edition
Some patrons are getting confused with the 'request any edition' button and the 'request edition' button when there is ONLY one edition.
Is it possible for this to be dynamic? The 'request any edition' becomes 'request edition' and the 'request edition' button disappears when there is only one edition to choose from. Then back to the way it is when there are 2+ editions.
Please see attached screenshot.

display patron message (fixed field in Sierra patron record)
Sierra has a fixed field in the patron record that can be used by Sierra libraries in many different ways. It is not a free text field. It has a controlled vocabulary.
This field has the ability to block Patron activity via APIs and SIP2.
Libraries may use this field to request that library users have address checks, promote services, ILL updates, or other standardized messages rather than manually editing individual messages. If libraries use this field to block circulation, it would be helpful for this to display in the patron account in the catalogue. These messages could alert patrons…

Remove the option to freeze a hold once the hold request is already in Held status
Discover's hold management button offers the option to 'freeze' a hold when an item has already been trapped and held for the hold request. Our ILS (Polaris) does not offer the option to freeze holds when a hold is already in held status, so this will always fail. The default error message the patron gets is "Freeze failed. Try again." That message is misleading because trying again will never work. However, the language string is used for ANY failed freeze, so if you edit it, you have to edit it to something clunky like "Freeze failed. Item may be in…

Add filter for circulating items
Our customers are repeatedly asking to be able to have a filter for including only circulating items (excluding reference materials). This is particularly useful for materials that are heavily collected in our Research Center and Resource Centers. If customers could limit to circulating, they could more easily find items they can check out, and we have received multiple requests for this feature.

Alphabetize Format Filter
The format filter in Discover is currently sorted by number of items in the filter (i.e. largest amount is Books, smallest is Book+Cassette). This is NOT intuitive for searching - if I want to apply a format filter, I'm going to look for the name of it alphabetically, not by how many items I think might be available in that format. With the addition of custom TOMs, this is even more important as we are adding more formats available to filter by.
