  2. Item editing permission organizations are based on the Owning Branch of an item. However, permissions for item editing through the checkout page ('Manage Item Dialogs') are based on the item's Assigned Branch (as well as the check-in branch matching the assigned branch).

    We think it makes sense for both these permissions to be aligned to the Owning Branch, otherwise it can leave room for inappropriate changes.   3. We have had multiple patron requests to be able to sort reading history delivered by API by latest added or by title. Currently reading history is displayed with the oldest first which results in a lot of scrolling by the user.

  5. While Leap Item Record views are pretty robust, they often lack a very critical piece of information - Last Activity Date. Modification and Creation date display in Properties but Last Activity Date is not displayed. While it can sometimes be found in the History view, this is not always the case. Sometimes History is empty in Leap. We reference Last Activity date in the staff client on a regular basis and need ready access to that same information in Leap

  6. I have occasionally found multiple supplier records for a single supplier account, whether added by mistake or under multiple names (Thomas Klise and Crimson, for example). When these supplier records are accidental duplicates, I believe it would be helpful to have the ability to merge them (retaining all linked POs and invoices) to maintain one supplier record per account.

  7. It would be awesome if we could add or adjust the information that displays on the Check In screen in Leap, for example to include an item's shelf location for easier staff sorting - and it would also help to catch Display items that have circulated on their return.

  8. We need a way to bring perennial critical patron info to staff attention without creating blocks for customers or forcing staff to open the full patron registration. Having this info in the patron record header or properties would be ideal. Currently, when a patron selects a library for a hold in the PAC and Pickup Areas are enabled, the default option is "None" which might not make as much sense to them, and they might think they have to select one of the other options (if there are any). Can "None" be changed to something more intuitive like "Walk-in" or "Inside" or "Regular"?

  10. There is currently no warning if a patron selects titles in one of their saved title lists with the intent to place a request but then accidentally clicks the Remove button instead.

    Providing either a warning message, as is the case for things like canceling holds, or putting deleted titles in something like a trash can for 30 days or so, would prevent accidental deletion and related frustration and improve the user experience.

  12. It is frustrating that Polaris allows items that have not been received to circulate. There is probably not a connection between the PO status and the item status – but it sure would be nice if there was! We recently had an incident where items were distributed to branches before having been invoiced and received. A few days later when the invoice was processed, the items were all changed to a status of In-Process, even though they had already been checked out or were in a status of Being Held.   13. I would like to submit the idea that Polaris offers the ability to run a report based on patron activity dates, and not their LAST activity date.
    Currently, we can only run a report using "Last Activity". This is not helpful if trying to determine how many patrons were active in a given period because if they have had activity after the specified period, they would no longer be counted in the report.

Currently the API only performs basic duplicate detection (name, birthdate, barcode, username, and optionally the name on ID) when a patron record is created using the PatronRegistrationCreate call. It does not apply other optional settings - email, phone 1, or the UDFs - these only get applied directly in Polaris or the PAC. This idea is for including these optional settings in the API logic.

  15. We would like Polaris to transition expired patrons to Deleted after a specified time frame. (Such patrons would of course need to have no lost items or checkouts.) We envision this working like Lost Item Transition and the Missing Item Transition. Ideally, we could also set a fine threshold to only delete those expired patrons with less than a certain amount of fines on their cards.

    Adding this feature would allow a library to automatically remove expired patrons and allow for a more streamline process for deleting the ones they wanted.

  18. I would like to be able to run reports in Simply Reports to get our item return statistics broken down into time increments (such as hourly), as well as by date.

    This would be useful for tracking busy times and identifying trends/patterns at our library.

  19. When staff log out of Leap at the end of their shift, Microsoft prompts them to sign out of their Microsoft account. I think it confuses staff, they click on the prompt and then they get logged out of their Microsoft account. They then have to log back in and due to MFA need to get a code to log back in. This isn't ideal.
