  1. We had a staff member let us know that they had a credit on their personal account and they found the process of dealing with the credit to be a little frustrating. The credit did not automatically apply to their other fees and there was no way for them (as a patron) to tell the system to apply the credits. The only option was for the patron to get in touch with staff to have this taken care of. This would give the patrons more flexibility for managing their account.

  3. This is occurring in the Leap patron registration section. For accessibility purposes some of our staff tab through the patron registration and when hitting the zip code field and entering the zip, the select a city pop up box will appear showing multiple cities connected to that zip. The default spot for the tab to be at when this window appears is on the ok button, meaning none of the radio buttons have been selected yet. Then you must shift + tab and forward tab to eventually get to a radio button being highlighted. You can click the space bar…

  4. We would like an optional field for parent or guardian information in the registration form.

    We don't require parents to have library cards if they only want their children to have cards, and we have instances where only children can qualify for free cards (school district vs county lines). It would be great to include a parent name, DOB, and DL# in the child's registration without using fields that prompt duplication notices.

  5. When you are adding an account or changing information on an account and the system detects a duplicate, it won't let you proceed. However, it won't give you any information on the conflict account.

    It would be super helpful to have the conflicting ID shown in the popup message to make tracking down the other account easier.

    Especially if the dup happens to be because of something weird like a space or non-printable character.

    This seems to happen more as locations move to SSO and fill in their external ID field.

  7. Despite constant reminders, we have issues with substitute staff who cover at various locations logging in under the wrong branch. It would be great if Leap could have a pop up box, requiring confirmation to proceed, that alerts the staffer if the workstation they are logging in on is associated with a location other than the login branch.

  8. Current Situation:
    We currently have an unwieldy number of Patron Codes, which we aim to streamline by shifting toward greater use of Patron Statistical Classes. This is possible because many of our existing Patron Codes have minimal or no functional differences. However, Patron Statistical Classes are not currently displayed within Leap’s Patron Info (‘I’ button) panel, requiring extra steps for staff who frequently need quick access to this detail regardless of which patron registration view they are currently in.

  9. There are lots of things that can go wrong with holds fulfillment. From things remaining too long in the RTF, to holds that were item specific, and now the item record has been deleted, holds on bibs where all items are restricted from filling bibs, holds where the item has been shipped months ago, holds where the volume-level hold information is incorrect.

    While there are reports that some libraries run for this, those are not "front and center" in most workflows for ALL libraries to be aware of them and be taking action to handle them.

  10. There should be a free text block that only people from the owning branch for that item can edit. This would allow staff from the owning library to make notes about pieces in an item or damage to an item without risking staff from other branches/libraries deleting the note from the home branch.

Instead of only allowing a pickup location to be set as closed in Vega Discover for all libraries/branches, it would be helpful to be able to show a specific pickup location by a specific library/branch only. For example, we are a cooperative location. We are not a library. But our staff place holds to be picked up at our location. However, patrons accidentally choose our pickup location. On our old system, we were able to set it up so a particular pickup location would only display by OPAC profile (login). Can this functionality be added?

  13. We would like to be able to limit who can change the Expiration Date and Address Check Date in the patron registration workform. Off the two, Address Check Date is most important as this is what we use to make sure patrons are updating their information regularly.

    These are configured in SA and are set system wide yet staff continue to change them.

    If I remove the 'Patron registration: Modify permission' for member library staff, they won't be able to change other fields.

  14. Add a Transmission Method of 'E-Mail' when creating an invoice. The current options are Paper, Fax, and Electronic. Many vendors now send invoices by E-Mail, not the US Postal Service. Invoices created by EDI transmissions are tagged as 'Electronic' as they should be, even if the vendor emails the invoice to us. What I would like to do is be able to identify an invoice that was emailed to us by a non-EDI vendor. I know it's technically a paper invoice once I print it; but it was received by email and should be identified as such.

  15. We have some serials that only have one level of enumeration, that resets annually (i.e. no. 1 is published in January and no. 12 is published in December and there is no volume number). It would be nice to have option to set the number of units and the continuity at this level.

Currently, there's no option in the PACREG application to allow patrons to choose to receive email notifications in plain text - but that option does exist in the new patron application on the staff side. Libraries using the PAC registration feature would like to have that included in the PACREG form.

  18. Staff have suggested that the Name on Identification area of the Leap registration form be collapsable, so that it will only be accessed if absolutely necessary. This measure would be an extra step in ensuring a patron's privacy, if a staff member accessing the record doesn't need that particular information.

  19. Please add a drop-down box for the profile section of registration. There is a drop-down box for the address section labeled term but there is not one for the profile section. It makes it easier for staff to choose the correct date. In the Polaris toolbar, there is a drop-down box for patron info and address.

Working with the weeding-type record set workflow in an attempt to streamline, we have found the absence of an option to create a Bib record set from the available actions takes us a rhetorical two steps back from before (when we weeded via item record sets). Once the items have been withdrawn, we now have to go through each withdrawn item's record to their respective bibs, to uncheck "Display in PAC". It would be nice to add a "Display in PAC" uncheck in the Weeding template creation - however, it would need an added function to alert staff of bibs…
