  1. When the theme's scss file is edited and compiled, the version parameter on the stylesheet link in the HTML does not update. This means that browsers don't know to pull the updated css from the server if they have it cached, so the css updates won't apply for all users immediately due to browser caching. Here's an example of the line in the HTML with the version parameter:

    <link type="text/css" rel=""https://yourlibrary.org/polaris/custom/themes/theme1/site.css?ver=7.1.14157.0">

    It looks like the version parameter is based on the Polaris version, so I'm guessing it's automatically updated whenever Polaris is upgraded, but that doesn't help for theme adjustments…

  2. It would be nice if we could separate the "holds ready for pick up" texts from the "renew" texts and be able to choose if you want one or the other or both. Customers would love to get a text for when their holds come in, but for some, the renewal texts are too much, and the pick up texts get lost in the volume. Then also, have the option to get renewals and/or pick up notices in their email.

  3. Hi there! We just had a situation with a patron where several items they returned in the book drop on 6/30 were checked in today 7/5, however they were back-dated to accommodate for the days the library was closed and prevent fees from accruing. But upon viewing the history in Leap for each of those items, the check-in date displays as 7/5 and does NOT show the 5 days back-date, which would've been 6/30. This is very confusing and misleading, as our patron spoke to the owning library about the items and the owning library said 'New Milford checked those…

  5. An option added in the patron registration that turns on a "loan tracking" feature. When checking out books, if this feature is turned on, then when a barcode is scanned that the patron has already borrowed a message comes up to let the patron know they have already read this title.
    Would check at a bib level (so not just the actual item that is scanned, but any bib that item is associated with). Should be based on what is in the reading history of the account. Would need enhancement for serial issues, as the reading history currently only advises…

  6. We have noticed an uptick in libraries circulating items on on-order records despite it violating consortia policy. We would like to see the text of on-order records (or even just specific fields) be in a different color to help provide a visual indicator of the record type.

  7. I polaris both account expiration and adress check dated had an option of just adding 1 year (or other period you choose) to a current date. In Leap only adress chech still has that option and account expiration date is pure manual, which takes longer to set each time. It would be nice to have that line of adding a chosen period to the current date back there.

  8. For SHRs and Authorities, if you have read-only access to those records and try to view them, you get an override pop-up. This is happening because it is attempting to open those records in Write mode. To VIEW the record, you have to hit cancel, which is confusing for staff.

    For Bib records, it does not work this way. For bib records, you can view them and then if you don't have permission to write or modify them, you get the pop-up when you attempt to save the record.

  9. The PolarisTransactions].[Polaris].[NotificationLog] has Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in it. That table is never cleared, even if you select to clear the PatronID from the PolarisTransactions.

    Ideally, we'd like an option for this data to just be cleared out after a certain period of time. If that is not possible, then NULLing the patron id when that option is enabled for the PolarisTransactions should work here too.

  10. Current Situation:
    We currently have an unwieldy number of Patron Codes, which we aim to streamline by shifting toward greater use of Patron Statistical Classes. This is possible because many of our existing Patron Codes have minimal or no functional differences. However, Patron Statistical Classes are not currently displayed within Leap’s Patron Info (‘I’ button) panel, requiring extra steps for staff who frequently need quick access to this detail regardless of which patron registration view they are currently in.

  11. Separating the Current & Recent workform trackers means you sometimes have to check both to regain access to a record quickly. There really is no need to separate them.

    Modern systems indicate active records using a "dot" (think Mac OS, Windows 11, etc.). Combining the workform tracker into a single list would make access workforms in Leap faster.

    PS I do acknowledge that some people would have a problem with a growing list of workforms showing. So an option to clear all inactive workforms would probably needed to be added in addition to the close all active workforms option.

  12. There is no hyphen in Branch SAN but Supplier SAN has a hyphen. This causes confusion for both the library and suppliers while setting up EDI for the very first time for new Polaris customers. It would be better if there was a consistency.

  14. We could use a report based on staff user and/or workstation listing all transactions made for a given date range. Most importantly for us, cataloging information which could provide date and time of bib records being created and/or modified as well as circulation information for staff who work the circ desk.

  15. My staff mentioned that they would like it if we are renewing a patron account, we could have the option to renew all accounts it has an association with at the same time. Ex: If Jane Doe comes into renew, we can have the option with the click of a button to automatically renew John, Jim and Jill Doe's accounts as well. That way all members of a family can be updated at the same time more easily.

When inputting information for an ILL request for a patron, our ILL clerk would like there to be a field where she can input the OCLC number of the item she is wanting directly into the hold request. That way when she exports the request, it will directly sync with the item she wants, without having to use ISBN.

  20. Some locations need to apply both a distributed tax and a header tax to invoices (in Canada a PST and a GST). Currently, Polaris adds the percentage from the distributed tax to the header tax, so the total is higher than it should be. Libraries can work around this by reducing the header amount by the percentage of the distributed amount, but this is a fiddly process and sometimes results in rounding errors.

    We would like to see Polaris parse the calculation of the header tax charge, so it no longer includes the distributed tax amount. Polaris should also round…
