  1. The PolarisTransactions].[Polaris].[NotificationLog] has Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in it. That table is never cleared, even if you select to clear the PatronID from the PolarisTransactions.

Ideally, we'd like an option for this data to just be cleared out after a certain period of time. If that is not possible, then NULLing the patron id when that option is enabled for the PolarisTransactions should work here too.

  2. Despite constant reminders, we have issues with substitute staff who cover at various locations logging in under the wrong branch. It would be great if Leap could have a pop up box, requiring confirmation to proceed, that alerts the staffer if the workstation they are logging in on is associated with a location other than the login branch.

  3. Reset Claim Count is currently all or nothing. We need the ability to reduce the claim count incrementally. This would help in situations where we actually find a bona fide claim return on our shelf for a customer who otherwise has a pattern of making false claims. We want to be able to clear that incident from the claim count without having to reset to zero.

  4. There is no hyphen in Branch SAN but Supplier SAN has a hyphen. This causes confusion for both the library and suppliers while setting up EDI for the very first time for new Polaris customers. It would be better if there was a consistency.

  5. We could use a report based on staff user and/or workstation listing all transactions made for a given date range. Most importantly for us, cataloging information which could provide date and time of bib records being created and/or modified as well as circulation information for staff who work the circ desk.

  6. Instead of only allowing a pickup location to be set as closed in Vega Discover for all libraries/branches, it would be helpful to be able to show a specific pickup location by a specific library/branch only. For example, we are a cooperative location. We are not a library. But our staff place holds to be picked up at our location. However, patrons accidentally choose our pickup location. On our old system, we were able to set it up so a particular pickup location would only display by OPAC profile (login). Can this functionality be added?

  7. When inputting information for an ILL request for a patron, our ILL clerk would like there to be a field where she can input the OCLC number of the item she is wanting directly into the hold request. That way when she exports the request, it will directly sync with the item she wants, without having to use ISBN.

  8. We would like to be able to limit who can change the Expiration Date and Address Check Date in the patron registration workform. Off the two, Address Check Date is most important as this is what we use to make sure patrons are updating their information regularly.

These are configured in SA and are set system wide yet staff continue to change them.

If I remove the 'Patron registration: Modify permission' for member library staff, they won't be able to change other fields.

  9. We have some serials that only have one level of enumeration, that resets annually (i.e. no. 1 is published in January and no. 12 is published in December and there is no volume number). It would be nice to have option to set the number of units and the continuity at this level.

  10. Currently, there's no option in the PACREG application to allow patrons to choose to receive email notifications in plain text - but that option does exist in the new patron application on the staff side. Libraries using the PAC registration feature would like to have that included in the PACREG form.

  11. In Serial Holdings Records, an option not to include parentheses around the date (chronology) when no enumeration pattern is being used would be helpful.

  12. Staff have suggested that the Name on Identification area of the Leap registration form be collapsable, so that it will only be accessed if absolutely necessary. This measure would be an extra step in ensuring a patron's privacy, if a staff member accessing the record doesn't need that particular information.

  13. Please add a drop-down box for the profile section of registration. There is a drop-down box for the address section labeled term but there is not one for the profile section. It makes it easier for staff to choose the correct date. In the Polaris toolbar, there is a drop-down box for patron info and address.

  15. On the Polaris self-check machines, the EXIT button at the end of the checkout is proving to be confusing to some patrons, as they think that they were bumped out of the transaction without completing it. Having a screen or message telling the patron that the transaction is complete would be helpful. Alternately, being able to customize this wording to say COMPLETE or FINISH instead would work.

We would also like to be able to customize other wording such as "scan the book's barcode" to be more generic, as many library materials aren't books.

  16. We already have the option in 7.6 to export print, phone, and TXT notices via the native Polaris admin settings. The only format that cannot be exported is email.

It would make notices integrations to third-party and other hosted solutions more accessible and easier to maintain if the same functionality were supported for all notification methods.

  17. When a patron's registered branch is updated via Leap but their existing patron code is not available at the new branch, Leap assigns the first patron code alphabetically by default. The Polaris client, by contrast, applies the default patron code for the new registered branch. Please follow the patron registration default patron code for that location in Leap, as happens today in the Polaris client.

  18. Collection Agency Set Up: Can we add the ability to filter out patrons who already have a collection block when we send by item library? Due to financial reporting requirements, we have to send by item library but find many of our patrons end up with more than one collection block which we then need to remove.

  19. LEAP - Outreach Services: When processing held items in Outreach Services, items for a patron will deselect after checking out. This requires staff to go back and reselect the desired items to print a packing list.

The ability to turn packing lists on such that they print with CKO would be appreciated.

A prompt to "print packing list?" during CKO would also work.

  20. Since you can exclude patron codes that are submitted to collections, you shouldn't be allowed to update the patron code for a patron in collection. We've found that any updates to fines and fees will not be sent to collection management (UMS) and the collection block will not be removed for a patron in collection if they now have a patron code that is excluded from collection.
