  1. There is no hyphen in Branch SAN but Supplier SAN has a hyphen. This causes confusion for both the library and suppliers while setting up EDI for the very first time for new Polaris customers. It would be better if there was a consistency.

  2. My staff mentioned that they would like it if we are renewing a patron account, we could have the option to renew all accounts it has an association with at the same time. Ex: If Jane Doe comes into renew, we can have the option with the click of a button to automatically renew John, Jim and Jill Doe's accounts as well. That way all members of a family can be updated at the same time more easily.

When we create a weeding record set, before sending it to the approval dashboard for review, we'd like to have a way to mark items in the set as "not found" or some other indication that the item is not on the shelf. Right now we can update items individually to another status (missing for example) or remove them from the record set. We would like the ability streamline this and mark the item directly in the weeding record set.

  4. A way to provide additional toasts in Leap when receiving items would be useful for particular alerts about items. This would be especially useful for processing notes when items are received.

  5. In our previous ILS, we had the ability for renewals to have a different renewal length compared to check out length. For example- books checked out for 28 days but renewals were 14 days.

  9. This currently defaults to "Display," and displays with that status in PAC. Display is a non-circing status that is actually used for items in our special collections, so we can't rename it to something like "In Repair."

    If system admin gave an option to set a default status when "Mark Unavailable" is selected from Missing Part Check In, it would streamline workflows as we wouldn't have to go back and change the status in the item record.

  10. In our previous ILS, on the patron's checked out items list, we could see the date of when the item had been checked out as well as the due dates. I know that staff can go into the item record to see who, where and when it was checked out, but it would be nice to be able to see what all was dealt with at the same time.

  11. Our previous LMS had functionality within the Solus app, where we could enter a collection code in the Solus CMS, and as new items were added in the collection it would automatically feed into a new items carousel on the app. It was a "set and forget" feature.

    With Polaris, it looks like our only options are to enter Bib IDs or ISBNs, or manually create & update Record Set IDs.

    It would be a great time saver if there was an option for an automated new items carousel. We raised the issue with our account manager who spoke to…

  13. We already have the option in 7.6 to export print, phone, and TXT notices via the native Polaris admin settings. The only format that cannot be exported is email.

    It would make notices integrations to third-party and other hosted solutions more accessible and easier to maintain if the same functionality were supported for all notification methods.

  15. I realize this is niche, but if you go to set up SSO in your environment, heaven help you. My crew just got through a week of getting things set up. There were 3 of my employees and at least 1 Innovative support staff and 1 Innovative dev involved all week. I can't imagine the amount of $$$ that was burned in hourly staff time getting it going. And of course the good news is that an upgrade or server move could break it all again! Some of the documentation is wrong and some of the transcribing of the data…

  16. If there is an issue with a scheduled Simply Reports job, it must be rerun manually. This includes problems with the SQL Job Polaris scheduling executive. For example, if one report takes longer than 30 minutes to run, the scheduling executive won't allow another instance of that SQL job to start, causing reports to be missed. Additionally, reports can be missed if the server is offline for a variety of reasons including during upgrades. Simply Reports should check the last run date for the report and reschedule it if the elapsed time is greater than the scheduled interval.

  17. Currently, it seems that we can opt to have all e-mail notices sent to the primary e-mail on an account, or all e-mail notices sent to both the primary and alternative e-mails on the account. We would like to be able to choose at the notice level whether a notice is sent to the primary e-mail or to both. This would allow us to, for example, send billing notices to both e-mails, but receipts and renewal notices only to the primary e-mail.

  18. When using the find tool basic search, we can use filters to narrow down criteria. After applying the criteria, if we select power search, the power search string is automatically created based on the filters. We can then modify the power search as desired.

    It would be very helpful if this could work in opposite way: that if we create a power search, but are wanting to then see the visual representation in the basic search filters, that we could move from power search to basic search with the criteria filled in in the filters.

  19. Please add a Save option for the full picklist so any items removed will stay removed.

    When we go to Utilities > Outreach Services > Picklist, we see the full picklist for all Outreach Services (ORS) patrons. We can find a title either by scrolling through the list or using the filter to search by patron or title. We can select the title and then press "Remove from list". The full picklist displays and the selected title no longer appears on the list.

    However, there isn't an option to Save here.

  20. Indian Trails Library has several members who own 2 properties in 2 different CCS Library areas. Several times now these member's accounts were merged due to other library staff in other libraries not looking at the member's notes. This upsets the members and is more work for library staff to recreate the other account.

    It would be great if there was a red banner like the "expired" banner on a member's account that owns two properties so that when any CCS library opens the member's account the red banner will alert them that this member owns to properties in the…
