  1. Currently, when a patron is placing a request for ILL via OCLC in the Polaris PAC, Polaris offers a "local item" to hold if the item is in the local Polaris database. Unfortunately, I have just learned from my Site Manager it is only checking title/author to suggest a match, not format.   3. Our library went fines free, but still charge patrons if they place a hold, but do not come in to pick it up. We don't want to charge them to place the hold, but do want to charge if we transit the item, make it available, but they don't come get it. In lieu of fines, this is a major revenue stream for us. We are migrating to Polaris and are surprised to learn it does not offer this functionality. Please consider adding this!

  4. Currently, when staff update their library's Dates Closed table for a single date in the future they are required to select/enter the same date in both the Dates Closed and the Until fields.

    While it is just a couple additional clicks, having the Until field auto-populate with the same date that staff have selected/entered in the Date Closed field would improve the end user experience when they are entering a number of single dates at once.

  5. We would like to be able to save a scanned copy of a patron registration card to our patron's record. Louisiana is passing a law on content restrictions that requires us to store this information as well as any signed waivers. It would be convenient to be able to scan and save this information directly to a patron's account rather than dump all the saves into a cloud storage platform.

  6. It would be nice if we could separate the "holds ready for pick up" texts from the "renew" texts and be able to choose if you want one or the other or both. Customers would love to get a text for when their holds come in, but for some, the renewal texts are too much, and the pick up texts get lost in the volume. Then also, have the option to get renewals and/or pick up notices in their email.

  8. In the PO Line Item screen, when the Status is set to 'Canceled', the Segment Status correctly shows 'Canceled', but the Payment Status still displays as 'Open'. We would like to see a 'Canceled' Payment Status option added so the record more accurately reflects the true state of the transaction. This enhancement would provide clearer, more consistent data for our reporting and workflow.

  9. Staff would like to be able to bulk change a patron's pickup branch for selected (or all) holds on the patron's account. Be they holds already trapped, suspended or active. We often have patrons that move from one part of the area to another and need to change their holds to reflect their new pickup branch. Having to change one hold at a time is tedious.

  10. Please add more options for adding records in a record set to purchase orders or selection lists in Leap. Currently, the only actions in Leap are to bulk add records to a new or existing PO; the Polaris client also has options to add all records to a new or existing selection list, to add selected records to a new or existing PO, or to add selected records to new or existing selection lists. (See screenshots.)

  11. Polaris currently (as of 7.8) offers some limited customization of which fields in the patron registration form in Leap are required to save a record.

    When the "Name on ID" fields were introduced several releases ago (7.2?) we were excited. However, the way the feature was implemented meant that the primary name fields were now the "preferred name" fields and were required to be filled out in order to save a record. However, a record could be saved without recording a name on ID.

  12. When checking out a stack of items via RFID pad, LEAP will only display the held item's patron's name and barcode. It would be helpful to have the item's title and/or barcode, so we may capture the hold without going through each item individually.

  13. For pocket labels update the author field to exclude new URI fields found in the 100 field (subfields 0 and 1). This should be an easy fix. We want to retain that information in the bibliographic records without having to manually remove them in label manager before printing.

  14. When using the Leap filter we would like to have option to select 'not equal to / <>' when dealing with shelf location filter.

    We usually use things like collection and call number of what items to include when doing inventory. We would like to exclude items that are located on certain shelves. As we start putting more items into a Display shelf location we dont want to sweep any of those items up into our search.

    We have a customer here who is down on the Mobile Hotspot queue. I have noticed that several of the people above him on the queue currently have hot spots checked out already. It doesn't seem fair that those customers will get to have their hotspots potentially another three weeks before this other customer gets to borrow it.   16. Sometimes staff select the the wrong payment method in Polaris when taking apply a payment from a customer (cash/check/CC). Once selected, inaccurate payment methods cannot be corrected in Polaris.

    While leads spot and notate these errors on Polaris cash reports, our system-wide Finance dept uses these reports to reconcile our credit card statements each month. It happens often enough and across so many branches that it creates a lot of extra work on the back end to reconcile our credit card account.   17. Separating the Current & Recent workform trackers means you sometimes have to check both to regain access to a record quickly. There really is no need to separate them.

    Modern systems indicate active records using a "dot" (think Mac OS, Windows 11, etc.). Combining the workform tracker into a single list would make access workforms in Leap faster.

    PS I do acknowledge that some people would have a problem with a growing list of workforms showing. So an option to clear all inactive workforms would probably needed to be added in addition to the close all active workforms option.

  18. There is no hyphen in Branch SAN but Supplier SAN has a hyphen. This causes confusion for both the library and suppliers while setting up EDI for the very first time for new Polaris customers. It would be better if there was a consistency.

  20. My staff mentioned that they would like it if we are renewing a patron account, we could have the option to renew all accounts it has an association with at the same time. Ex: If Jane Doe comes into renew, we can have the option with the click of a button to automatically renew John, Jim and Jill Doe's accounts as well. That way all members of a family can be updated at the same time more easily.
