  1. If there is an issue with a scheduled Simply Reports job, it must be rerun manually. This includes problems with the SQL Job Polaris scheduling executive. For example, if one report takes longer than 30 minutes to run, the scheduling executive won't allow another instance of that SQL job to start, causing reports to be missed. Additionally, reports can be missed if the server is offline for a variety of reasons including during upgrades. Simply Reports should check the last run date for the report and reschedule it if the elapsed time is greater than the scheduled interval.

  2. Currently, it seems that we can opt to have all e-mail notices sent to the primary e-mail on an account, or all e-mail notices sent to both the primary and alternative e-mails on the account. We would like to be able to choose at the notice level whether a notice is sent to the primary e-mail or to both. This would allow us to, for example, send billing notices to both e-mails, but receipts and renewal notices only to the primary e-mail.

  3. When using the find tool basic search, we can use filters to narrow down criteria. After applying the criteria, if we select power search, the power search string is automatically created based on the filters. We can then modify the power search as desired.

    It would be very helpful if this could work in opposite way: that if we create a power search, but are wanting to then see the visual representation in the basic search filters, that we could move from power search to basic search with the criteria filled in in the filters.

  4. Please add a Save option for the full picklist so any items removed will stay removed.

    When we go to Utilities > Outreach Services > Picklist, we see the full picklist for all Outreach Services (ORS) patrons. We can find a title either by scrolling through the list or using the filter to search by patron or title. We can select the title and then press "Remove from list". The full picklist displays and the selected title no longer appears on the list.

    However, there isn't an option to Save here.

  5. Indian Trails Library has several members who own 2 properties in 2 different CCS Library areas. Several times now these member's accounts were merged due to other library staff in other libraries not looking at the member's notes. This upsets the members and is more work for library staff to recreate the other account.

  6. We would like the ability to modify the description of the Item Record History Actions when it comes to renewals. Currently, when a renewal happens in the app, it lists it as "Renewal - third party software" which confused our library staff. We were told that is the wording for anything renewed via the Polaris API, but since (for now) the only thing we have renewing that way is the app, we'd like to change the wording to say "Renewal - Mobile App" so it's clearer for staff.   8. When the theme's scss file is edited and compiled, the version parameter on the stylesheet link in the HTML does not update. This means that browsers don't know to pull the updated css from the server if they have it cached, so the css updates won't apply for all users immediately due to browser caching. Here's an example of the line in the HTML with the version parameter:

    <link type="text/css" rel=""https://yourlibrary.org/polaris/custom/themes/theme1/site.css?ver=7.1.14157.0">

    It looks like the version parameter is based on the Polaris version, so I'm guessing it's automatically updated whenever Polaris is upgraded, but that doesn't help for theme adjustments…

  9. It would be nice if we could separate the "holds ready for pick up" texts from the "renew" texts and be able to choose if you want one or the other or both. Customers would love to get a text for when their holds come in, but for some, the renewal texts are too much, and the pick up texts get lost in the volume. Then also, have the option to get renewals and/or pick up notices in their email.

We just had a situation with a patron where several items they returned in the book drop on 6/30 were checked in today 7/5, however they were back-dated to accommodate for the days the library was closed and prevent fees from accruing. But upon viewing the history in Leap for each of those items, the check-in date displays as 7/5 and does NOT show the 5 days back-date, which would've been 6/30.   12. Sometimes staff select the the wrong payment method in Polaris when taking apply a payment from a customer (cash/check/CC). Once selected, inaccurate payment methods cannot be corrected in Polaris.

    While leads spot and notate these errors on Polaris cash reports, our system-wide Finance dept uses these reports to reconcile our credit card statements each month. It happens often enough and across so many branches that it creates a lot of extra work on the back end to reconcile our credit card account.   13. I polaris both account expiration and adress check dated had an option of just adding 1 year (or other period you choose) to a current date. In Leap only adress chech still has that option and account expiration date is pure manual, which takes longer to set each time. It would be nice to have that line of adding a chosen period to the current date back there.

  14. For SHRs and Authorities, if you have read-only access to those records and try to view them, you get an override pop-up. This is happening because it is attempting to open those records in Write mode. To VIEW the record, you have to hit cancel, which is confusing for staff.

    For Bib records, it does not work this way. For bib records, you can view them and then if you don't have permission to write or modify them, you get the pop-up when you attempt to save the record.

  15. Cataloging staff using the client have to resize the columns of the find tool results every time they search bibs and items. They also would like to be able to add and remove columns from their default searches. In LEAP, they can add and remove columns and LEAP remembers when they resize a column. This functionality in the client would save them steps.

  16. The PolarisTransactions].[Polaris].[NotificationLog] has Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in it. That table is never cleared, even if you select to clear the PatronID from the PolarisTransactions.

    Ideally, we'd like an option for this data to just be cleared out after a certain period of time. If that is not possible, then NULLing the patron id when that option is enabled for the PolarisTransactions should work here too.

  17. Separating the Current & Recent workform trackers means you sometimes have to check both to regain access to a record quickly. There really is no need to separate them.

    Modern systems indicate active records using a "dot" (think Mac OS, Windows 11, etc.). Combining the workform tracker into a single list would make access workforms in Leap faster.

    PS I do acknowledge that some people would have a problem with a growing list of workforms showing. So an option to clear all inactive workforms would probably needed to be added in addition to the close all active workforms option.

  18. There is no hyphen in Branch SAN but Supplier SAN has a hyphen. This causes confusion for both the library and suppliers while setting up EDI for the very first time for new Polaris customers. It would be better if there was a consistency.

  19. The volume field might seem straightforward, but when it's not standardized—or when anyone can input anything—it quickly becomes a source of frustration, especially with holds and sorting. Imagine a patron placing a hold on “Volume 2,” but one record says “v.2,” another says “Vol 2,” and another just “2”… chaos ensues.

    Making that field permission-based could go a long way in preserving data consistency and reducing hold errors. It puts a bit more control in the hands of cataloging staff or system administrators

  20. Have the HOLD (patron request) list alert during an ASN receiving stay open until user closes it. Many times it disappears before we can pull the items from the shipment.
