  1. I would like to have the ability to edit the "Last Used Purchase Order Number" field. I have a FY** prefix attached to each PO I create and would like to restart the numbering at 1 at the beginning of each fiscal year. Currently, our Site Manager has to reset it for us.

  2. Currently Polaris "Patron Loan Limits --Total Holds or Total ILL" value is not checked at point of INN-Reach webpac hold placement. This means Polaris users can place limitless INN-Reach holds which wastes staff time and courier resources. Please develop Polaris/INN-Reach connector to block further patron initiated INN-Reach holds once total holds and/or total ILL value is reached.

  3. Currently, Floating's Load Balancing option can only be enabled at the System-Level in Polaris. I am on a shared Polaris server where one library system wants Load Balancing and one library system does not want it. This leaves us with not turning the feature on. It would be nice to allow Floating's Load Balancing option to be set at the Library-Level.

  6. In Picklist, when you click deny next to a checked INN-Reach item, it disappears from the picklist. If the item is being denied because it was not on the shelf, we need a way to mark it as missing but can't get back to it when it disappears.

If we open the item record to change the status to missing and then return to picklist to check it and mark it missing, we get the attached error. Can you add another picklist view for items marked Denied so that staff have an easy way to do follow up? Thanks for…

  7. In a consortium setting or just a large, multi-branch, library system, the most efficient hold preference setting may not be the same for both sequences.

We currently have to pick the hold preference setting that is necessary to meet our consortium’s policies in the secondary sequence, but is redundant in the primary sequence. It would improve patron experience and reduce unnecessary shipping if we could impose different settings for each of the sequences.

  8. After selecting a title and clicking on the Availability button, a list of items is shown with their check out status. On that screen it would be great if there was a check box to turn on a filter that would only show the checked in statuses. Currently, the customer sees a very long list of checked out items and may not see the one item that is available to have now.

  9. Patrons set up "saved search results" and can receive email notifications on a regular basis.

Unfortunately the language within those emails are misleading for patrons where the top of the email says "New items of interest at your library" , the middle of the message "The following saved searches returned these new results", but then at the bottom of the email the message says "this search found no new results" (See pictures). When reaching out to customer support reps, they informed us this is hard coded and cannot be changed in sysadmin or language editor.

    In a future upgrade, it…

  10. I propose that if the patron limitation is zero for a material type check out then the item will not be trapped for the patron. They will stay on the top of the holds list until an item that does not have a material type of zero for that patron type is checked in and trapped. Thus making the material type check out limit of zero a true material type block.

    Background:
When placing bib holds sometimes items on that bib will have different material types. These different material types will sometimes have limitations on the amount that can be…

  11. This is somewhat of an add-on to other improvement requests to the multiple holds feature. We would like to have an option for bib-level multiple holds. We have noticed that when teachers or book club leaders are placing the multiple holds and assigned to an item-level hold, they might get routed to a member library that doesn't frequently check their requests. This is absolutely a training issue, but we do see this a lot with our K-12 school libraries. We would like to see an option to put them in the queue as a bib-level hold where they will get…

  12. There are SOO many features and so much functionality in Leap, but sometimes it is hard to find them.

Today, I was looking for the Patron Import feature in Leap 7.8, I couldn't find it. Turns out it is under Background Processing.

This request to add a Feature Search to Polaris that is present across several websites and applications that allow you to search by typing part or all of a feature name and allows to you find that without having to dig through a bunch of Menus.

  13. Information about which 3M SIP port that is tied to each branch is only available if you have SQL. This request is to allow that port to be viewed in Sys Admin. Even if it was just part of a a branch's properties that would be fine.

It could also be in a table view format (like Fine Codes, etc.) but it would just be nice to see that information somewhere outside of SQL.

  14. Current Situation:
We currently have an unwieldy number of Patron Codes, which we aim to streamline by shifting toward greater use of Patron Statistical Classes. This is possible because many of our existing Patron Codes have minimal or no functional differences. However, Patron Statistical Classes are not currently displayed within Leap’s Patron Info (‘I’ button) panel, requiring extra steps for staff who frequently need quick access to this detail regardless of which patron registration view they are currently in.

    Suggested Enhancement:
Add the Patron Statistical Code directly below the Patron Code within the Leap patron information (‘I’) panel. This would…

  15. We could use a report based on staff user and/or workstation listing all transactions made for a given date range. Most importantly for us, cataloging information which could provide date and time of bib records being created and/or modified as well as circulation information for staff who work the circ desk.

  16. It would be wonderful to be able to customize keyboard shortcuts per user.

I don't typically use 90% of Polaris features, and the other 10% I use very frequently, and most of those features don't have any hotkeys associated with them.

  17. A recent change to PAPI allows for the retrieval of, and adding to, different types of records sets, including Patrons, Bibs, and Items. Adding to Patron and Bib records sets is straight forward because there are existing endpoints within PAPI that return BibRecordID and PatronRecordID numbers. This isn't the case with Item record sets because there a currently no endpoints that provide an item's RecordID. This enhancement would add the ItemRecordID to each row in the BibHoldingsGet response.

  18. Currently there is no mechanism to limit the number of active Borrower by Mail requests a patron can have. It would be beneficial for all libraries to be able to limit the number of active BBM requests a patron can have in Polaris.

  19. When creating a new account in Leap, it would be helpful if when the date of birth was less than 18 years from the registration date AND a patron code for adult patrons was selected, that an alert would display prior to saving, as we see for missing DOBs or other fields.

It should not be a hard block, as it is possible for someone under 18 to register as an adult, but the alert would catch attention to remind staff to confirm/correct during the registration process.

  20. Currently, a patron's current charges (for fines, etc.) can be listed on their emailed checkout receipts, but not on their printed checkout receipts. It would be very useful for patrons if the printed checkout receipts could also include this information.
