Allow Global Update of Fund Codes
Allow for Global Update of fund codes. I work in an academic library and will often get purchase lists from our liaison librarians for a specific department. The records are brought in and the attached order records are edited in GU with the correct vendor, and selector, etc. It would be a time-saver if I could also update the fund code (which are tied to academic departments) at the same time.

Granular Permissions on Item Record
We would like to see more specific permissions on items records to allow staff who don't have access to edit entire item records to be able to do basic things like add and delete item messages or change the status of the item.
Frontline staff are discovering outdated item messages or finding that items are missing, and it's inefficient for them to have to contact someone else to change the status of the item, or delete an item message attached to it.

Notify the library staff of new ILL requests via email
An option for Sierra to notify the library of new ILL requests via email rather than a staff member manually checking the new requests function.

MFT support in data exchange
Prior to Sierra 6.0 and the introduction of MFT, it was possible to use FTP to transfer files though data exchange within Sierra. This is no longer possible as MFT is not supported in data exchange.
Please add support for MFT in data exchange in the same way as support for MFT has been added in scheduler.11 votes -
Returning items not in hand
We were wondering if a “Return Item” button could be put alongside “Renew” “Claimed Returned” when in the Checked Out Items screen, so that you can return an item not in hand etc.
Simply select the item already issued to a member, and hit 'Return'.5 votesThis idea will be reviewed by the Innovative product team for consideration in planning the upcoming product roadmap.

Allow an option for patrons to choose a different default pickup location in Encore instead of it defaulting to the patron's home library.
Currently, when a patron is logged into their Encore account and they place a request, the system will default to their home library for the pickup location. If they want to pick up somewhere else, they have to manually choose that option from the dropdown menu.
We want to keep the home library field limited to physical library locations, but allow for alternative pickup options that aren't specifically a home library (community pickup location, or hold lockers, etc). Right now, if you want to pick up somewhere other than your home library, you have to choose from a dropdown option.…

Add a hyperlink to the author, series, and subject fields in Sierra
When working in a Sierra bib record, I would like to click on the author, series and subject fields so I can see a list of records that have those same authors, series, and subjects. Encore has this capability. I would like to see it in Sierra.

Attach new volume from Serials Checkin function
We'd like the ability to be able to attach a volume record from the Serial Checkin module. This would save time and make the serials module more useful.

check in claimed returned (item location should reflect where item was made claimed returned)
For libraries with floating collections, the location where an item was made "claimed returned" may not reflected in the item record. This is because the 3 options staff have when an item is "claimed returned" does not change the location of the item.
Essentially the problem:
An item is “checked out” at location A.
The item is “claimed returned” at location B.
The item location remains as location A.Staff have 3 choices when they make an item claimed returned:
· 1. Places a claimed returned note in both the item and patron records
· 2. (Optional) Removes the check-out…

Location Code 0 Displays as None in Checkout Location Field
With the recent changes that allow the label to display in the item record, staff now see the descriptive name of the statistical group in the checkout location. However, 0 displays as None and does not honor what is in the Statistical Group Maintenance table. We have ours labeled for Web Renewals and would like this display to honor what is in the table as opposed to saying 0 None.

Arrange Saved Notice jobs
by Kathy Setter Although we can sort by columns. in the saved notice jobs there is no way to rearrange them into a preferred order without being creative in naming the jobs (numbering, adding letters, etc). I would like to be able to move the lines to arrange them in the order most useful for staff. In other places you can right click and move up or move down, and that's what I would like to do here.

New material type icons
The current icons available for the OPAC for material types are woefully lacking. There's no icon for audiobooks (the modern digital type), but you have icons for cd-rom books and books on cassette. The icon I'd most like to see added is a streaming video icon. This is a very common collection item in the 21st century, but our only option is a film (reel-to-reel), dvd, or internet resource (which isn't helpful at all). Any chance we could get more modern material type icons? For ideas, simply google "streaming video icon" and look at all the options!

Additional Collection Summary Reports in Decision Center
We would like to have a collection summary report based on item records with a count by item type and location. If possible, adding a limiter for circulation status, for example on shelf or checked out.

Expand Locations field for bibs, holdings, and orders API responses
Currently, the bibs, holdings, and orders APIs do not return the expanded Locations fields for records with multi locations. The multi location value that is returned is useless without the expanded values.

Postpone/freeze a hold after it's Ready for Pickup
Postpone/freeze a hold after it's Ready for Pickup
Similar to Overdrive's redeliver option. Allow a patron to postpone/redeliver their hold one time if it comes in unexpectedly or at a time when they cannot come to pick it up.13 votesThe product manager will review this idea for possible inclusion in a future release.

Automatically email Manage Holds results to library staff
Have the results of Manage Holds automatically emailed each morning.
This would let staff pick holds even if they don't have Sierra open or available. The automated emails could be set up within the Manage Holds function itself, or could be accomplished if Scheduler worked with Manage Holds (right now Scheduler only works with Create Lists and Data Exchange).

Waive part of a fine
Circulation staff would like the ability to waive portions of individual fines/fees on a patron record.
Sometimes staff forgets to backdate items in our book drop or the library is closed for some reason (weather, etc.). Staff wants to waive part of the late fee, but are forced to waive the full amount for the item, then go back and enter in a manual fee (or just waive completely).
Idea Value
Save staff time (no need to waive and then add a fine back in)
Accuracy re: fines paid data (will be properly noted as fine vs. manual)

Ability to import Create Lists Review File into Decision Center
Collection and circulation analytics would improve if we could import Create Lists item/bib search results into Decision Center.
If so, Decision Center could aggregate Create Lists results (searches based on authorities, orders, or hold/patron circulation behaviours) to provide circulation and collection statistics.
Our libraries would be satisfied for this import to display the fields that are in the “high”/ “low” circulation weeding reports.
We understand that the aggregated statistics in Decision Center are generated the night before.
