The ability to use multiple Boolean operators in an advanced search
The order of the operators should not matter in an advanced search you should get the same search results for whatever order you enter the same search terms.

Advanced Search - ability to send customers to other sites (e.g., our website)
It would be useful if the advanced search could include a link to other sites, like our website, or our eCollections sites or our research and heritage resources.

Advanced Search - enable drop down filters for boolean operators at new search page default
An advanced search feature should make Boolean search options visible with drop-down menus to assist in constructing custom queries. The Boolean elements should be simply a series of drop-down search filters. Most advanced search engines use this functionality and, this is easy for a customer to use.

Be able to see if there are holds on titles, we have checked out on My Bookshelf
A customer has provided feedback that by being able to see what checked out titles on their bookshelf had holds placed against them would help them prioritise their reading, e.g., if they knew a title was going to renew or not, or had holds on it, they would read that title first.

Allow libraries and collection sites to control what patron registration data shows in the patron profile
For example, patrons see a home branch, a registered branch, and a preferred pickup location. With our Polaris ILS, patrons don't actually have a home branch, so it looks like this just gets populated with their registered branch. Some patrons and staff have expressed confusion over this - it would be nice to be able to choose what fields from the patron registration display to the patron on their profile. Since we're a consortium, it would be especially nice if this could be controlled at the collection site level, rather than the higher level.

Make customizing Showcases easier
Vega should have controls when generating showcase code that allows the librarian to change the look and feel of the showcase and have the generated code include these customizations.
This idea was born when our web team asked if it was possible to remove the author name from a Showcase when embedding it into our website. Other libraries might want to remove title and author and just show jacket covers. Any ability to customize the look of the Showcase that is embedded would be awesome.

A way of prompting or reminding patrons that they need to change their passcode
If someone joins online we set a default passcode and when sending out the details to the patron by email we encourage them to make sure they change the default passcode to something more personal as soon as possible. However, it would be good to have an actual prompt in Vega Bookshelf when they first logon to remind them to change their passcode or better still force them to change their passcode.

Renewals remaining
We use Polaris and our old catalog showed the number of renewals remaining/available for patrons. We've heard from patrons and staff that this would be appreciated versus the current view (number of renewals taken). Thanks for considering!

Language Options
On the Vega Discover home page, only the link to English(US) is visible. The link to Español is visible only after user clicks English (but why click “English” if the page is already in English?) Suggest to display the dropdown menu items, show an arrow next the English (US), or a link to Español (US) instead of showing English (US).

Group hold
Group different editions together in order so once a format/edition satisfies the hold, the other holds will
automatically be cancelled. This can be useful for a user who doesn't care about the format and just wants any edition of the resource whenever it is available9 votes -

Ability to list/search showcases on the patron side. An example would be to list/search showcases by the creator, the teen department.

Copy configuration to and from kiosks and collection sites
It would be very useful for consortia managers to be able to copy the homepage configuration, global header, and potentially other settings from the main site/parent domain to kiosks and collection sites or from any type of site to another. Or, similarly, to be able to simply duplicate a site and then edit it from there.
This would save a lot of time when trying to create multiple sites that are harmonious in appearance and experience but distinct in content.

Search via shortcut codes
I have had a couple of libraries ask me about this:
will we be able to use the abbreviations from advanced search like in Encore in Vega? i.e. c:117 limits to my library, f:a. I use that all the time to help patrons and find resources quicker both in Sierra and Encore.
For further clarity:
Some libraries like to use the shortcut codes—once you know them, it’s faster and easier than using the facets to narrow down your search.
In her example, she’s using the Encore advanced search, limiting the format to books and to her collection. When you do…

Econtent in Kiosk mode
Currently, we are able to see a few of our e-items when searching in Kiosk mode. I would suggest full e-materials (Hoopla, Libby, etc) integration in Kiosk mode. If that is not possible, is there a way to exclude all e-items in Kiosk mode as we don't want our patrons to think that the e-items showing up are the only e-items we have?
