  1. By default Vega Discover loads zoomed in at 100% which cuts off a lot of useful information for the patron. The first record listed cuts off requiring scrolling and all the "Refine Results" don't show requiring scrolling. Vega requires an excessive amount of scrolling to see basic results. Zooming out to 90% rectifies this issue. I would like the option in admin settings to customize the default zoom level 70-100%. This will enhance the usability of Vega Discover and allow patrons the ability to see more vega options by default.

  2. Currently, when you renew an item, your checked out date updates to the date you renewed. Patrons have asked that it show the original check out date. So an item checked out originally in November and renewed in December would show the new due date, renewals remaining, and the original due date (not the date item was renewed). I suppose it could show renewal date, so long as original checkout date was available to see somewhere on the account (patron view).

  3. This is a combination of 2 ideas: Patrons would like to share lists they've created, and some patrons like to "Follow" others. We could create a new world of library "influencers" such as what is on social media, by having "Library Influencers" - those with over x number of followers. Patrons could select who they want to follow, and lists could be shared over social platforms.

  4. While testing out editing patron information in Vega, we ran across an issue. The mobile phone number field in the patron record edit maps to the 'o' field which we use in Sierra as a parent name field. It would make more sense to map to 'p' (telephone2) for us.

    Current Workflow

    1. The patron logs into Vega Discover.
    2. From their profile, they edit their information to add/edit a Mobile phone number.
    3. That phone number is mapping to Sierra's 'o' field

  5. After creating a site in the site configuration, you can limit to a specific location like main library or branch library. I would like to be able to chose all of our locations but be able to specify a "home" library which would reorder the collection location identical to when you log in to an account. This "home library" would still show all the locations having copies but would reorder them giving a specific location preference. You could also use this to select and display specific hours and info in the library info window. I'm thinking of this for an…

  6. We have the ability to see item availability within grid view on the regular Vega Discover site, but will not see that on the grid view within the customized Kids'/Themed (Kiosk) page. Please incorporate this for ease of visability within Kids'/Themed homepages. I've attached two screenshots showing the green/red boxes on a regular Vega Discover grid view versus the Kids'/Themed view.

  7. There are times when it makes sense to edit the pickup location text or reorganize the listing. Our consortia central offices processes ILL requests for the correctional facilities in our region and also recieves items in delivery for cataloging and staff requests. We are not open to the public. The pickup location is necessary as a selection, but we would like to move it to the end of the list and label it with "Staff Use Only", as we did in Encore. Another example is a temporary closure or access issue that could be communicated at the time of selection

  8. The library logo appears when on a library's collection site on a desktop computer, but on the phone it disappears. It would be nice if the logo could still display on mobile view.

  9. Work flow example: Vega sees the Bib Record is display in PAC (checked). Item Records associated to the Bib Record are all "Limited to pickup at..." (checked) the Place Hold dialog box shown on Vega should only reflect those values.

  10. Currently, you can only authenticate a patron by Patron ID or Barcode . Sometimes the libraries in the consortia don't tell us their barcode prefixes have changed and patrons were being blocked for no reason. So we are utilizing the SIP connection with OverDrive and Kanopy to block against patron type in Polaris, no longer utilizing the barcode prefixes so patrons have easier access. Now that fix might not work in Vega to authenticate OverDrive because we don't use the barcode.

  11. We would like to be able to suppress certain formats from appearing in the format list so it isn't so cluttered for patrons. We are aware that would eliminate certain results, but we would prefer it to appear cleaner rather than with so many options that patrons might not even understand.

  13. Currently, we are able to see a few of our e-items when searching in Kiosk mode. I would suggest full e-materials (Hoopla, Libby, etc) integration in Kiosk mode. If that is not possible, is there a way to exclude all e-items in Kiosk mode as we don't want our patrons to think that the e-items showing up are the only e-items we have?

  16. Could you please make it so we can create a view later list, just by adding an icon to the corner of the book image. This would be easier than having to click on the book to view it and then find the request or save button.

  17. After having just been in Encore to renew, now I’m in Vega. What I don’t like about this screen is the lack of item related info. Example, Let’s say the 2 SirDynix bibs are magazine issues and I want to renew the May 21 issue – which one is it? The Encore screen provides barcode and call number, so you can differentiate between the items. This would help situations like this.

  19. Movies need to have clearer display of the actors, director, etc. when you go into the item record. Some movies have been remade and I currently have a lot of trouble locating the right movie for my patron when they tell me the year it was made and I can't even find that in the item record because it only tells me when that disc edition was made not when the movie itself was first made. I'll also get patrons who give me a title where there are several movies with that title and I currently can't even find a…

  20. Currently, when you click on filters in the facets, you have the scroll all the way down to the last facet to finally get to the apply button. This is recent since before the apply button would move relative to where you were on the facet list. Either fix where the apply button is or simply apply the facets when they're selected, needing to click "apply" can be confusing for patrons when our old catalog would simply apply the filters once you selected them
