  1. We have noticed that in several places the second and third words start with a capital letter even though we have written the words in lowercase letters in the translation file. For Swedish (and more languages), it looks very strange when every word in a phrase or sentence begins with a capital letter.

    Some examples:
    "publisherInformation": "Information om utgivare", in Vega Information Om Utgivare

    "audience|general": "Allmän målgrupp", in Vega Allmän Målgrupp

    "audience|juvenile": "Barn och ungdom (0–15 år)", in Vega Barn Och Ungdom

    "audience|pre-adolescent": "Äldre barn (9–13 år)", in Vega Äldre Barn

  2. Currently, when you renew an item, your checked out date updates to the date you renewed. Patrons have asked that it show the original check out date. So an item checked out originally in November and renewed in December would show the new due date, renewals remaining, and the original due date (not the date item was renewed). I suppose it could show renewal date, so long as original checkout date was available to see somewhere on the account (patron view).

  3. When a patron goes into a list of bookmarks, the default sort order is oldest first. I would prefer it if the resources I just added appear at the top of the list without having to scroll or re-sort.

  4. When 856 links exist, display them when the appropriate tab is selected in the roll-up within search results. Currently, the links only display on the format tab after you open the title resource page.

  6. We currently have Overdrive content as records in our catalog and thus the API integration to Overdrive is not being used for the records. We'd like to continue to have those records in our catalog so staff and patrons can search in other places (Leap, PowerPAC, Innovative Mobile App etc) but be able to exclude them from Vega extraction so the API can be used instead.

  7. We would like the Sierra pop-up messages to show in the patron account in Vega. We use these messages to communicate with customers. As much of our services are now self-service, we need a way to communicate with them as they don't come to the desk.

  8. The Nov 5, 2025 Discover Release Notes (https://iii.rightanswers.com/portal/app/portlets/results/viewsolution.jsp?solutionid=250108121147587&guest=0#mcetoc_1j9d37oot2) introduced format level cover images. Now only one identifier is sent to Syndetics in the following hierarchy / order:

    1. Configured custom 856 Cover URLs
    2. ISBN
    3. EAN/IAN
    4. ISSN
    5. UPC

    This purportedly fixed an error where incorrect cover images would appear when both ISBN and UPC identifiers were sent to Syndetics, since these ISBN / UPC numbers in the cover image link might come from different records in the rollup.

    However, in the case of rollups of thousands of our AV records (Music CDs and DVDs/Blu-rays), this change introduced a new issue:…

The button to choose which graphic novel volume they would like is titled "Request Any Edition," and it seems like it might be more intuitive if the graphic novels said "Request Volume" on the first button, since almost (if not all) of the rollup records for any item say "Request Any Edition." For graphic novels, once you click "Request Any Edition" it has you choose your pickup location, and then it lets you choose the volume/issue.

    Having a button that instead says "Request Volume" and have the option before the hold pickup location would be more intuitive for patrons requesting…

  10. We as a Swedish library have opted out of the "review" option in the Syndetics Unbound integration, as we feel the English reviews do not provide much value to our patrons. It is however not possible to remove the ratings when hovering over a title.

    This is annoying as the a short blob of text (in English) appears with the rating, and it isn´t even possible to see the whole text (see attached image).

    We feel it should be possible to turn this off.

  11. Patrons have noted that when showcases feature a large number of items, they find it frustrating to navigate the full showcase Library List display. Several have asked about whether an option to switch to a grid view can be added, similar to the option that is available to them in the search results.

  13. We have had feedback from customers and staff that they would like the option to pass through to the eResource vendor from the resource record (via the 856). There is a "details" > "Note (electronic)" field that could be hyperlink.

    Right now many libraries have their 856 $z or $y in the Note (Hyperlink) field that says something like "Click here..." or "Click link" - but this field is not hyperlinked.

  14. Offer a setting in Vega Admin to restrict access to third-party content (e.g., CloudLibrary) by patron code, such as controlling visibility and/or buttons to place holds and checkout.

    Problem
    The vendor records are ingested into Vega, but access restrictions enforced in the vendor’s app and website are not applied in Vega. As a result, certain patron codes can still place holds and check out digital items. When they visit the vendor's app/website, they are not granted access to the item.

  15. We have had issues recently where items have been transferred to new bib. records and disappeared from Vega as a result and others where items were deleted and disappeared as expected, but then never reappeared once they were undeleted.

    We would like to have a database sync process that can be run which compares the Vega database against the ILS to confirm that everything is in sync - basically a cross-system data integrity check or verification process between systems that would let us know if there was anything that was out of sync so we could investigate and correct it.

  16. When setting up closure dates, it would be helpful to offer an option to setup a systemwide closure date (may be adjusted for each location).

    As a single library system, we only occasionally close an individual location; most closures would apply to all locations.

    Some closures may be need to be adjusted, such as a systemwide closure for a hurricane and turn off each location's closure as we reopen the buildings.

A patron that has signed in on the main Vega site or any collection site should remain signed in when linking to another collection site (unless the library has specifically limited sign in to an individual site). Currently, when an authenticated patron clicks to view another collection site, they lose their authentication. Patrons are not aware that they are on a completely separate site and are then confused when clicking on "My Bookshelf" does nothing.   20. When looking at an item record in Vega Discover, patrons should be able to right click on titles to open in a new tab (e.g., in the list of You May Also Like, Related Resources, Topics, etc.). Right now, patrons have to click on the title to open the record, see if we have it and where it's located. If they want to look at another title, they have to use the back button then wait for the page to refresh again, scroll down, and repeat.
