  3. The current default selection for a MARC extraction is "All Records". If a user clicks submit by accident, this can take hours to complete. Default selection should be changed to " New or Updated Since <today's date>" as that is a faster extraction (and probably more used)

  4. Add the "You Saved" amounts (either this year or lifetime) to my account in Vega. We have this for patrons who checkout at staff station from Leap but sadly not available in our SIP connected Self Checks. Would be great to highlight this for patrons.

  6. We'd like to be able to look back and see what we promoted on Vega Homepage (esp. if we promised promotion for something).

    With scheduled homepage layouts (https://portal.productboard.com/iii/15-vega-product-portal/c/772-in-beta-schedule-publishing-in-the-home-page-builder), we would like to keep track of what showcase blocks we have scheduled in the future as well as those already published (past events), ideally viewable in a way (table?) with what is included in the Showcase Block Settings - for example, title, start date and time, end date and time. When patrons are deleting anything from reading history a pop-up window will notify them that (currently) their entire history will be deleted: "Are you sure you want to delete your entire reading history?" And if individual title deleting becomes a possibility: "are you sure you want to delete this(these) titles?"

  8. When looking at an item record in Vega Discover, patrons should be able to right click on titles to open in a new tab (e.g., in the list of You May Also Like, Related Resources, Topics, etc.). Right now, patrons have to click on the title to open the record, see if we have it and where it's located. If they want to look at another title, they have to use the back button then wait for the page to refresh again, scroll down, and repeat.

  9. We use a staff account to create curated lists we can send to patrons as part of a personalized reader's advisory program. We've noticed that the high number of lists (>350) is creating marked slow-down and functionality issues in Vega Discover when logged into this account. We were told the number of lists is likely causing the issue. Consider creating the ability for staff to have high-content accounts for situations like this.

  10. Please add select boxes next to each title in grid view to allow users to use bulk holds while viewing search results in that view.

    The "Select All" and "Place holds" options appear at the top of the search page in grid view, but there are no select boxes for individual titles. It would be great to have select boxes appear in grid view. If this can't be done, it would probably be better to not include the Select All and Place holds options in this view either since not being able to select individual titles makes this feel broken.

  11. We'd like the ability for patrons to link their existing library card account with other authentication platforms such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, Linkedin, Facebook, etc.. This would provide ease of sign-in and enhanced security through features like multi-factor authentication (MFA). Patrons would register their existing library account with one of these integrations if they decided to move to this method. This has become common enough across the web that we've had patrons specifically ask for the ability to login with their Apple or Google account.

  12. When a checked out OverDrive item is viewed in Vega's "My Bookshelf," the user is given the option to "check in" the item using a button to the left of the listing. Clicking a caret to the right of the button makes an additional button, "get item," appear which, when clicked, allows the user to choose how they would like to view the item (read in Kindle, read in browser, download ePub or PDF, etc).   13. A staff member would like to add the possibility of creating multiple item level holds on one title in the catalog similarly to what staff members can do in Leap. This will help patrons and book clubs that would like to place a hold on the same title without a duplicate error more seamlessly.

  14. Due to the Marrakesh treaty the 341 and 532 tags were created to make accessibility tags for print disabled patrons. Vega should enable the tags to make these tags available in Vega. I am attaching a sample from the National Network for equitable library services as an example.

Currently if a copy isn't available at the pickup location of any edition in a multi-edition rollup in Vega Discover, the holds logic dictates that it will look next for any edition with a copy available at the patron's home library, then for the edition with the most available copies, then if no copies are available, for the edition with the best holds:copies ratio.

    The libraries with branches in our consortium would like the holds logic to look at availability of editions at their BRANCHES next if the pickup library has branches but doesn't own any editions themself. Also, they…

  17. Currently, in the translation file there's one spot to edit ALL Place hold buttons. This prevents us from, say, editing the button that applied to ALL editions to say perhaps "Place hold on any edition" and, perhaps, editing the edition specific button to say "Place hold on this edition". We would like these separated out for editing.

  18. Libraries should have the option to exclude frozen holds from the total holds queue that appears in any catalogue.

    Benefits:

    1) Customers will have a better idea of where they are in the hold queue.
    We encourage customer-driven hold management, and customers have told us that they want an estimate of when their holds will be filled.
    This is especially true when customers place multiple hold on titles within a series.

    2) Customers will not see inflated hold queues and provide feedback to the Library that they should purchase more copies.

  19. By default Vega Discover loads zoomed in at 100% which cuts off a lot of useful information for the patron. The first record listed cuts off requiring scrolling and all the "Refine Results" don't show requiring scrolling. Vega requires an excessive amount of scrolling to see basic results. Zooming out to 90% rectifies this issue. I would like the option in admin settings to customize the default zoom level 70-100%. This will enhance the usability of Vega Discover and allow patrons the ability to see more vega options by default.

  20. Currently, when you renew an item, your checked out date updates to the date you renewed. Patrons have asked that it show the original check out date. So an item checked out originally in November and renewed in December would show the new due date, renewals remaining, and the original due date (not the date item was renewed). I suppose it could show renewal date, so long as original checkout date was available to see somewhere on the account (patron view).
