Update Roll-Up Logic for DVDs and Blu-Rays
Right now, the roll-up logic for DVDs and Blu-Rays uses the publisher information in addition to title to identify between different editions. However, there are a number of older films that have been republished by a new distributor, even though they are the same film, and despite being basically the same, do not roll-up. "Dune" (1984) is one example. "Fire Walk With Me" is another.

Display copies in Available statuses first in location drawer
When multiple copies of an item are assigned to the same library branch, the location drawer appears to list them in order of item record ID within the same location (this is also the case in our classic Polaris PAC, not sure how it is in Sierra). We have had feedback from front-line staff that they would like to see copies in Available status listed first, with copies in other statuses listed below. This reasoning makes a lot of sense to me. Support "additional text " feature for notifications in Polaris in Discover
Polaris (Leap and PAC) support the ability for a patron to opt to receive both an email AND text message or a phone call AND text message using the "additional text" checkbox feature. However, Vega only supports patrons selecting a single preferred notification method.
Patrons often opt in to dual notifications at registration, but their Discover profile won't reflect the notifications they actually will receive. This is likely to create confusion and frustration for patrons as well as limiting the use of a valuable Polaris feature.

Staff User Accounts
We are finding the creation of staff user accounts a bit clunky. Having only 12 hours to accept the link is too short of a time frame when someone from another location is creating the user account but unaware of when the staff member is working or will see the email. If the window is missed, there's no way for them to request a new link, and the account has to be deleted and recreated. There also needs to be a Forgot Password option for staff users.

Change Position of Passthrough Source Links in Search Results
Change the position of passthrough source links to a row below "## results found for {keyword}".
The current position of the findFrom text and passthrough source links does not leave much space for more than a few words. The responsive behavior of the findFrom text is to disappear on small screens. This makes it difficult to convey the purpose of the passthrough source link. If the link has an entire row there will be adequate space for descriptive text on all devices.

Hero Carousels
For Hero Carousels, when you add a showcase there's no option to display the showcase title. Having just the image doesn't give context for patrons to know what that leads them to. We would like the option to include the showcase title with each picture.

Allow us to choose the display order in Vega when there are linked 880 fields
When looking at records in our catalog that have non-Roman vernacular script included in the 880 fields, it does not appear in the order in which it would best serve our patrons. I have included screenshots to illustrate how we purposely have the original language/vernacular script displaying in the 245 field so that it displays in the Title in brief results lists, and on the receipt and notices when patrons check items out for optimal patron service. enhance URL linking to include Syndetics lexile/reading level filters
I received the following from a school superintendent in our service area, and I think this would be a beneficial enhancement to Vega for students and school staff:
We store the Lexile level in our local student information system. This means that pretty easily, we could show the parents their kid's level, then link to the two local library districts with some instructions on how to filter and search. But as I shared, they still have to do a lot of clicking to get to that screen where they can filter on level and subject.

Add a dedicated copy button to Vega Item/Barcode Window
A small handful of our libraries have reported issues copying barcodes and BibID's from Vega's lightbox and pasting into Sierra. Apparently irregular expressions like a new line can sometimes be selected and Sierra will not paste anything afterward; giving these staff members the impression that nothing copied over.
We've explained that they can double-click the text to select only it but it would be helpful if there was a dedicated copy to clipboard button next to these fields to minimize confusion.

Improve brief availability display
We would like the brief availability to be more specific than it is, similar to the way the PAC is in the brief display (see screenshots). It should have specific numbers rather than say "one or more locations". If it can't be displayed in that spot, then it should be displayed below the Place Hold button where it lists the number of holds and copies.

Direct Links to Bookmarks, Saved Searches, and Reading History
Currently the only direct links to specific patron account tabs that are to Checkout, Holds, Fines and Fees, and Profile. There should be permanently available links to the other top-level tabs within My Bookshelf: Bookmarks, Saved Searches, and Reading History.

Find a Copy More Prominently Displayed
We noticed that Discover users focus on the “On the shelf” list and miss “Find a Copy”. We would like to submit a feature request to have “Find a Copy” more prominently displayed. The three ways to do this in order of preference:
- Above “On the shelf” reversing the two locations + larger icon and font
- Next to “On the shelf” so both are on the same line + larger icon and font
- Larger icon and font where it currently resides on the page

hoopla
Further customize Hoopla integration to allow segmentation of collection content.
Hoopla doesn't do Top 100s or Top 500s anymore as of January 2024. What they can do is "Top Load", which is popular titles across each format (about 85,000 records) and includes top DEI and non-English language titles.
Libraries also want to segment to just Juvenile, just audiobooks, etc.11 votes -
Home Page: Showcase fixed sizing setting
Showcase cover art has the flexibility to expand and contract across various sizes, resulting in a challenging navigation experience when displaying these items. To enhance user experience, consider either enforcing a consistent display size for cover art or, at the very least, maintaining uniform sizes for all showcases. For a visual representation of the issue, please refer to the attached image.

Automatically re-execute search in Location Drawer
In the Location Drawer, there is a search box that offers the user a place to narrow the results based on call number, edition date, etc. When the user changes the location, the results update to the desired location and the search term(s) is retained in the search box, but the results don't reflect the inclusion of the search term. The user must click in the search box and manually re-execute the search. This is not intuitive at all. Language Options
On the Vega Discover home page, only the link to English(US) is visible. The link to Español is visible only after user clicks English (but why click “English” if the page is already in English?) Suggest to display the dropdown menu items, show an arrow next the English (US), or a link to Español (US) instead of showing English (US).
