  1. Like many libraries, we have a Library of Things and many of the items can't be stored out on the shelves. This makes it difficult for patrons to browse our LoT collection when they visit the library. We're creating a system of cards, but that is fussy and requires regular inventory to make sure cards accurately reflect what is here.

    I know we can make a carousel list of LoT items in Vega. What I would like is a carousel that indicates if items are available at a location or checked out.

  2. We need a way to prevent serial holding record information from displaying in the work card. SHR info is very useful when looking at an individual library's location drawer, but since it can differ from library to library in our consortium is often incorrect when displayed under the shared title. An example is Vogue magazine. Not all of our libraries limit circulation on the current issue, nor do they all keep two years of issues. Self-hosted Polaris Customers who have Vega Discover can allow a connection between their Polaris installation and Vega Discover for the purpose of using existing AD staff accounts for Vega user management. Currently, only one AD is supported. In consortia, there may be multiple ADs (e.g., in our environment, we have four).

    We'd like there to be support for multiple ADs so consortia can benefit from the convenience of using AD credentials to access Vega Discover.

  4. On the Holds tab, it lists how many holds you have, but not how many have arrived. This would allow patrons who have a lot of items on hold to know exactly how many to expect at pick up.

We came across situations where incomplete/unauthorized subject headings (see attached) from suppressed OverDrive API-sourced records are appearing as Topics in the record for the print version of the same title, even when it isn't rolling up with our ILS-sourced econtent record for the same title (see attached). We were told that even though we have our own ILS record for the title with those subject headings removed, and the API record that has those subject headings is suppressed, the content from that suppressed API record is still being passed through to Vega, and it is connected to the print record…

  6. The planned/upcoming feature (as of January 2025) to add the ability to filter My Bookshelf lists by item availability is a nice addition. However, in looking at the preview, staff have expressed concerns that some patrons may find the carousel display of featured available titles too much, as a common theme we hear in feedback about the My Bookshelf feature in general is that there is too much scrolling and clicking involved to navigate it. Currently, patrons can click 'I forgot my passcode' on the Vega login menu, but the following page references an 'email address' as the required information to reset their PIN, while it actually requires a barcode. Please provide libraries with the option to edit this language to accurately reflect the PIN reset process or allow this page to redirect to a library-hosted webpage for further instructions.

  8. So far, the only way we have of distinguishing materials in the catalog for our Chinese speakers that are written in Traditional Chinese vs. Simplified Chinese is by their place of publication. Titles published in mainland China (008 position 15-17 is "cc") are different from titles published in Taiwan (008 position 15-17 is "ch"). We would like to see place of publication added as a facet for this reason.

  9. When using the hold shelf functions of IMMS (Intelligent material Management System), customers are unable to see in Vega which hold shelf their items are ready to pickup on.

    Workarounds are required by staff to fill this gap, and customers are encouraged to use other applications which does show this information.

    It would be great to have the hold shelf placement details displayed in Vega, for items ready for pickup.

  10. I still feel this is sort of a bug, but I'm going to try submitting an idea.

    When logged in: You can click on any link in "My Bookshelf" to expand it, but you can only collapse it by clicking either the down arrow or the "My Bookshelf" tab. When on another tab such as "Bookmarks, Saved Searches, or Reading History", I feel that clicking on these tabs should also collapse the My Bookshelf back to the bottom.

    When not logged in: Clicking any link in the "My Bookshelf" will expand it but clicking "My Bookshelf" no longer collapses it…

  11. Allow more than 10 "exceptions" to library hours. The 10-exception limit often does not allow for a full year's worth of closed dates to be listed, which makes it feel incomplete. The limit also means that admins will have to go back and make edits more frequently to both remove passed days and add the next exceptions, instead of adding all exceptions at the beginning of the year and simply removing passed holidays as they happen. (It would also be cool if the passed days could disappear automatically.)

    I would also like "closed" to be the default type of exception…

  12. Vega currently blocks item-level requests where one location attached does not lend the items, even though other locations will. The items that do not ILL are causing Vega to fail the request. This forces the patron to click the request button for all the editions/locations in the rollup until they find a library that will ILL the item.
    Eliminate that painful patron experience by having Vega do that work for them. This should be set at the Consortium level as it is not an issue in the Collection Sites.

  17. Improve Vega's page loading performance on devices and allow patrons to view the complete results lists easily by removing the page links and adding Lazy Loading or Load More option. Patrons' current web experience is a continuous scroll with content loading. This enhancement maintains that experience.

  20. As a System Administrator managing over 100 Collection Sites, identifying which assets a user has access to requires manually checking every single site. This is prohibitively time-consuming and leads to errors when editing, auditing, or deleting user accounts and Collection Sites. A Centralized User Access Management feature would help audit and efficiently manage user permissions across all Vega Discover assets. Ideally, the feature should allow staff to:
    1. Select a User
    2. View a comprehensive list of all associated Collection Sites, Kiosks, and Showcases the user has access to.
    3. Manage those access points centrally (e.g., bulk removal of access)…
