Scholastic Reading Levels in Vega Discover
Adding the Scholastic Reading Level to a books within Vega Discover as an option for patrons and staff could prove to be helpful. Scholastic Reading Levels are used in some schools so allowing for that variety can be helpful for patrons to choose items that will be made for them.

Integrate with IMMS for hold shelf information
When using the hold shelf functions of IMMS (Intelligent material Management System), customers are unable to see in Vega which hold shelf their items are ready to pickup on.
Workarounds are required by staff to fill this gap, and customers are encouraged to use other applications which does show this information.
It would be great to have the hold shelf placement details displayed in Vega, for items ready for pickup.

Better sorting for Edition Information of an item
We would like to have the ability to sort Edition Information for an item by other identifiers such as Availability, Publisher, etc. This will help with customizing the user's experience a bit more when looking at the particular editions that they would like.

"Place hold" button recognize Item Record "Limited to pickup at" (Polaris)
Work flow example: Vega sees the Bib Record is display in PAC (checked). Item Records associated to the Bib Record are all "Limited to pickup at..." (checked) the Place Hold dialog box shown on Vega should only reflect those values.

Account Linking - Fines Payment Included
We would like the ability to combine and pay fines for linked accounts. That was a selling point for setting this up. A parent could pay all the fines for all of the children’s/partner’s accounts to pay by credit card. Since we require a $5 minimum, this would be super helpful for fines for account A with $1.50 and account B with $3.50 – combining would get them over that threshold.
Currently, if you try to pay fines for more than one of your accounts, you get a message, "Fines can only be paid for one account at a time…

Available toggle in Showcases
We would love to have the ability to only show items that are available to check out in our showcases. This way, we could create long lists of items that don't remain static in their appearance, but instead show patrons different items based on what they could take home today. Seeing only the same 6 items on the front page every day gets old fast.

Allow for more information to be searched while using the Search Editions bar in the Resource pages
For materials that have a large number of editions, the search bar feature doesn't currently assist with narrowing down to a specific item. It will only search for Item Record Data. Being able to search for the Publication Date, Edition, and Publisher would assist those looking for a specific material.

account linking/associations
Linking accounts in the account portal appears to have no effect on patron associations in Leap. Because linking and associating accounts have similar functions and names, it makes sense to more fully integrate them with each other. For example, if accounts are associated in Leap, create the link automatically in Vega Discover rather than requiring patrons to go through the whole passphrase process, and vice versa. Having two functions that are very similarly named and do almost the same thing will get confusing for staff and patrons.

Hoopla Flex records should be included in Hoopla Ingests
We have both Hoopla Flex titles and Hoopla Instant titles. We're using the Hoopla ingest, but it doesn't include records from our growing Hoopla Flex collection. Our cataloging team has been looking at manually loading Hoopla Flex MARC records into our ILS. We had previously stopped manually loading eContent records even prior to purchasing Discover simply because it is so often a losing battle to keep records in sync. We'd be made whole if we could receive all of our Hoopla records through the ingest. Previously, we were waiting for Hoopla to update their API, but I’ve been informed by…

Possibility to disable fee-payment section
We do not offer online payment to our patrons. We therefore want to be able to disable this in the account portal. Even though we can change the text in the button, we cannot disable the button and the text while the text underneath can be changed, curiously the 1, 00 kr part of the text cannot be edited. This is causing confusion for our patrons.

Show schedule on Homepage configuration page
Currently, the behind-the-scenes view of the homepage tells you how many scheduled and unscheduled showcase blocks you have, but not which are which or what their schedules are until you go into the preview. This information would be so useful to have at a glance to help with managing and planning.
There is room next to the purple type labels for additional useful labels. I'd also stretch out the space allocated for the block titles to make them easier to read.
See my images for mockups of potential information that could be useful for big-picture managing a homepage without clicking…

Include scannable barcode with Patron Profile information
With support ending for the MyLibrary! App, we will be encouraging patrons to use our mobile-friendly Vega Discover Catalogue in a web browser on their device. One thing that will be missed is the ability to click "Show Card" to display a scannable barcode for checking out with staff or at a Self Checkout station. Currently, the barcode number is included in the patron profile but it would be great to add a scannable barcode image there as well.

Improved Blocked Account Display
Currently, if a patron is blocked from borrowing due to too many fines and/or long overdue items they can still place hold requests. This causes issues when the patron comes into the library expecting to be able to check out their held items and is met with a block.
To make it clear to the patron, can there be a pop-up or banner displayed on Discover explaining this so patrons are made aware in the catalog before they place a hold.

offer hyperlink to eResource site
We have had feedback from customers and staff that they would like the option to pass through to the eResource vendor from the resource record (via the 856). There is a "details" > "Note (electronic)" field that could be hyperlink.
Right now many libraries have their 856 $z or $y in the Note (Hyperlink) field that says something like "Click here..." or "Click link" - but this field is not hyperlinked.

Change Position of Passthrough Source Links in Search Results
Change the position of passthrough source links to a row below "## results found for {keyword}".
The current position of the findFrom text and passthrough source links does not leave much space for more than a few words. The responsive behavior of the findFrom text is to disappear on small screens. This makes it difficult to convey the purpose of the passthrough source link. If the link has an entire row there will be adequate space for descriptive text on all devices.
The screenshot shows the desired position.

please add PressReader as a supported vendor
Supported eResource vendors have added visibility in Vega Discover. We have integrated eResources with that vendor and would like to maximize the visibility of this vendor.

Hero Carousels
For Hero Carousels, when you add a showcase there's no option to display the showcase title. Having just the image doesn't give context for patrons to know what that leads them to. We would like the option to include the showcase title with each picture.

Allow us to choose the display order in Vega when there are linked 880 fields
When looking at records in our catalog that have non-Roman vernacular script included in the 880 fields, it does not appear in the order in which it would best serve our patrons. I have included screenshots to illustrate how we purposely have the original language/vernacular script displaying in the 245 field so that it displays in the Title in brief results lists, and on the receipt and notices when patrons check items out for optimal patron service. However, despite our efforts, the transliteration is appearing foremost in search results in Vega instead of the original language/vernacular script, which is not…

Show format icons in admin instead of the word "default"
It would be much more helpful for us if we saw the current default icons for each format type when we look at the "ILS Material Type to Work Level Roll Up Mapping" chart (see attached). We have no way of knowing what the "default" icon is for some of these formats, so we would have to do a search one by one in grid view to see what each format is by default. The chart should display the current default icon either next to or instead of the word "default" and there could be an option at the top…
