  1. In the kid’s catalog version of Vega Discover for consortium use we are currently unable to neatly organize the location codes needed to limit the content to solely JUV materials. There can be many JUV codes in use for a single library which can be confusing for the patron if they’re looking for a specific library in the Locations facet.

Level 1 (library) codes do not appear in the Locations facet, even if the Level 2 (branch) codes are nestled under them. Being able to have a single location option for each library would be beneficial for the patron’s experience…

  3. The bulk holds and bulk bookmarking features are very helpful. This would be more user-friendly if the "Select All", "Add to List" and "Place Holds" buttons were repeated at the bottom of the page. This would allow the user to scroll down through the list and make selections and then act upon those selections when they reach the bottom of the page, before clicking on to the next page.

Currently, a user has to scroll down to make selections, then scroll all the way back to the top of the page to add selections to a list or place holds,…

  4. We leverage discover.rhpl.org for our Vega Discover Premium catalog access but to access our staff portal we have to remember to use https://rhpl.na3.iiivega.com/staff/

Please allow premium users leveraging custom DNS to use their custom domain for /staff access as well.

  5. I'd like to be able to limit search results to one branch's collection and limit search results available items in one branch's collection in just one or two obvious clicks.

  6. Since some libraries in our consortium are fine free and others are not, patrons would like to know what library owns the item(s) they have checked out as to avoid unnecessary fines. Or they may simply like to return it to the owning library to save delivery work. Generally, it is good information to have visible to patrons.

  7. We have libraries complain that patron are confused due to the routing codes being present after the owning library in the Vega display (see screenshot).

It would be great if we can somehow mask this, or add the locations to the translation file to get rid of this display.

  8. I have worked at my current library for close to 6 months now. I cannot begin to describe the number of times a patron tells me they do not understand Vega Discover, or how to find out where an item is shelved. The filled in large green check mark is too distracting and confusing to patrons. That is a complaint I have heard repeatedly. The small open not filled in check mark with the library name is not visible enough to patrons, nor is it super obvious it's a hyperlink to the call number.

This particular piece of Vega Discover…

  9. Please enable ProQuest database customers to seamlessly search their databases within Vega Discover without the need for creating placeholder bib record redirect links. The ultimate objective is to allow patrons to conduct searches for items such as historical newspaper titles and receive relevant search results from our catalog, along with direct links to ProQuest Historical Newspapers databases associated with their search queries.

Third-party databases would also be fantastic but I'm sticking to Clarivate owned products for now.

  11. In the account portal, users want to sort their holds by where they are in the hold queues. They can do this, but the sort is not by the full value of the number. I can't imagine that anyone would expect the current sort.

    I have attached an example.
    In this list the sort appears as : 10, 17, 157, 30, 4

  12. The Nov 5, 2025 Discover Release Notes (https://iii.rightanswers.com/portal/app/portlets/results/viewsolution.jsp?solutionid=250108121147587&guest=0#mcetoc_1j9d37oot2) introduced format level cover images. Now only one identifier is sent to Syndetics in the following hierarchy / order:

    1. Configured custom 856 Cover URLs
    2. ISBN
    3. EAN/IAN
    4. ISSN
    5. UPC

This purportedly fixed an error where incorrect cover images would appear when both ISBN and UPC identifiers were sent to Syndetics, since these ISBN / UPC numbers in the cover image link might come from different records in the rollup.

However, in the case of rollups of thousands of our AV records (Music CDs and DVDs/Blu-rays), this change introduced a new issue:…

  13. As a System Administrator managing over 100 Collection Sites, identifying which assets a user has access to requires manually checking every single site. This is prohibitively time-consuming and leads to errors when editing, auditing, or deleting user accounts and Collection Sites. A Centralized User Access Management feature would help audit and efficiently manage user permissions across all Vega Discover assets. Ideally, the feature should allow staff to:
    1. Select a User
    2. View a comprehensive list of all associated Collection Sites, Kiosks, and Showcases the user has access to.
    3. Manage those access points centrally (e.g., bulk removal of access)…

  14. When viewing checkouts in Account Portal, the patron name appears next to every checkout. I know this is groundwork for the yet to release Account Linking function but please do not show this when there are no linked accounts. Patrons have already reported that this is not helpful.

  15. When there are physical copies of the title available, the shelf location appears on the results page. However, if there are no physical copies on the shelf at any location, that shelf location is hidden and the user must click into a location in order to see the shelf location. It is inconvenient to have that information hidden on the front page.

  16. To avoid potential patron confusion the ability to change the Vega website title from Welcome to Vega to something specific to your library when opening the Forgot My Passcode link would be helpful. For example, it might read "Library Name/Abbreviation Passcode Reset," which should eliminate any doubts about the nature of the webpage.

  17. Add the "You Saved" amounts (either this year or lifetime) to my account in Vega. We have this for patrons who checkout at staff station from Leap but sadly not available in our SIP connected Self Checks. Would be great to highlight this for patrons.

  18. When a patron is logged into Vega on their My Bookshelf profile, three options are displayed under location. We would like the ability to mask either Home Library or Registered Library Branch. Both options are usually the same for our patrons so we would like the ability to mask one of these options to avoid confusion. See the attached photo of the three current locations displayed when a patron is viewing their profiles in Vega.

  19. Our patrons who speak and read other languages need to be able to see our world language material records in their own language, including the 264 information, not just the title, author, and series. For Chinese materials, our users can distinguish Traditional Chinese materials from Simplified Chinese materials by checking the place of publication, and they can only do this if they can see that info in their language. As pictured in the screenshots, the old PAC shows the transliteration AND vernacular script, whereas Vega only shows the transliteration. Our users need to see both.
