Require login to bookmark
We've received several tickets from our member libraries reporting that patrons' bookmarked items aren't being saved. It seems this happens because patrons are bookmarking items while logged out. Although Vega does display a warning that users need to log in to save bookmarks, we believe user errors could be minimized if the option to bookmark items were only available after confirming the user is logged in.

Consortia and Hoopla Integration Within Vega
We are part of a consortium and have an enhancement request, specifically for our hoopla integration. Currently, we have to choose 1 library ID for title ingestion (Solano) and can choose a separate library ID for circulation (St Helena, for example). We choose the least restrictive library catalog to ingest all titles and then circulate based on the individual library. This causes patrons to be able to see titles that are in fact unavailable to them/not borrowable at their individual member library. This isn’t the ideal patron experience, so we would like to propose the following: we would like the…

Enlarging Availability Symbols
Consider enlarging the (x) and (check) symbols when indicating if a library's copy is available.

Allow custom DNS sites to use /staff for access
We leverage discover.rhpl.org for our Vega Discover Premium catalog access but to access our staff portal we have to remember to use https://rhpl.na3.iiivega.com/staff/
Please allow premium users leveraging custom DNS to use their custom domain for /staff access as well.

Ingest Name Authority Records into Vega Discover
I think that ingesting name authority records into Vega Discover would improve capturing name tracings in the 400 field, so that for example if Samuel Langhorne Clemens is searched, Mark Twain's works will also appear etc.

Limit to One Branch Collection and Available Items at One Branch
I'd like to be able to limit search results to one branch's collection and limit search results available items in one branch's collection in just one or two obvious clicks.

Contributor info in edition "i" area to better tell the actual difference between editions
Add contributors, such as translator, illustrator or foreword author to the edition bib-frame info "i" window to better distinguish between different editions of a title. Most people are likely looking for contributors when choosing between editions.

Integrate Proquest databases into Vega Discover (Searchable)
Please enable ProQuest database customers to seamlessly search their databases within Vega Discover without the need for creating placeholder bib record redirect links. The ultimate objective is to allow patrons to conduct searches for items such as historical newspaper titles and receive relevant search results from our catalog, along with direct links to ProQuest Historical Newspapers databases associated with their search queries.
Third-party databases would also be fantastic but I'm sticking to Clarivate owned products for now.

Customized Vega Help Section
I should preface this with the understanding that we can build our own help page and direct traffic there. However, the built-in Vega Help section contains fantastic material and is most likely updated with any new deployments of Vega Discovery. We'd love to have the ability to leverage those pieces while still maintaining our own branding, customized text, customized imagery, embedding Vega Guide, and adding alternative sources such as Niche Academy video tutorials.

Ability to Exclude Location Results in a Vega Collection Site
Give a Library the ability to exclude locations by default in the search results. For example, a Library may be far enough away that materials from that location are essentially unavailable. If they could be excluded it would help with preventing patron confusion and frustration.

Display information for everything by one author
When someone clicks on the author name for an item, they should be brought to a search result that shows all items by that author available in their library system. Currently, we're brought to a page that looks like what I've attached and it's quite annoying to try and view everything and look for availability. If a patron is looking for information about an author, they're not likely to go looking in the library catalog. They should be able to click the author's name and see everything the author has written that's available in their library system as though they…

650 lines should be available on results page to promote better searching!
Subject headings are one of the most important tools in the librarians' search arsenal to successful searching.

Improved Hoopla Integration
With the Hoopla integration turned on, Hoopla records don't roll up with everything else (it looks like it's because the ingested records have the author as First Name Last Name instead of Last Name, First Name).
If we get an API ingested record for a Hoopla item we already have a MARC record for, we end up with a duplicate in Vega.

Advanced Search
Currently the advanced search option is pretty unhelpful for patrons. All it really does is define what a Boolean search is and not particularly in a way that makes sense to someone who doesn't already have knowledge of what a Boolean search is. Advanced search needs to bring people to a place where they are given more guidance with multiple search boxes to help guide them more. It needs to make sense to patrons who have no clue how Boolean operators work or even what they are, not for librarians who were taught about this in school.

Maintain Custom URL During Password Resets etc.
We use a custom URL search.bccls.org that patrons are accustomed to. When they go to do a password reset or other account related things they are redirected to the na4 URL which causes concern. We would like to submit an idea that custom URLs remain consistent throughout the Vega Discover experience.

Item Record Summary in List View
We would like to add the ability for users to see the item description within the List view of searches. Specifically the summary (520 field) that is included in records similar to the way that the PAC displays items.

Show Owning Library in Checkouts
Since some libraries in our consortium are fine free and others are not, patrons would like to know what library owns the item(s) they have checked out as to avoid unnecessary fines. Or they may simply like to return it to the owning library to save delivery work. Generally, it is good information to have visible to patrons.
