Remove Grey Cover Images for Titles Not In Collection
In the "more in this series" area provided by syndetics, a grey cover image is displayed if the title does not exist in the collection. This creates confusion for the patron who sees a title that isn't there. When clicked on, it takes the patron to a keyword search, which creates even more confusion. We would like this to be optional. Right now, there is no way to turn off grey cover images without taking away a large part of Discover functionality. Showcase Display
We would like more automated showcase displays like the NYT Bestsellers. Since we are in Canada, we specifically would like to see the Globe & Mail Bestsellers as an option.

Require login to bookmark
We've received several tickets from our member libraries reporting that patrons' bookmarked items aren't being saved. It seems this happens because patrons are bookmarking items while logged out. Although Vega does display a warning that users need to log in to save bookmarks, we believe user errors could be minimized if the option to bookmark items were only available after confirming the user is logged in.

Add Sort by Author for Bookmarks and Lists in patron accounts
Add Sort by Author Ascending/Descending options to Bookmarks and Lists in patron accounts.
Along with Title and Date Added, this is an option in WebPAC that patrons are used to having. It also makes sense to have consistent view/sort behavior across the catalog. So, since patrons are/will be able to sort search results, checkouts, holds, and reading history by author, they should be able to do the same with other lists, as well.

This used to be on the roadmap and disappeared. We have staff and patrons that would like to be able to limit by Lexile rating.

Add "Select All", "Add to List" and "Place Holds" buttons to the bottom of the search results.
The bulk holds and bulk bookmarking features are very helpful. This would be more user-friendly if the "Select All", "Add to List" and "Place Holds" buttons were repeated at the bottom of the page. This would allow the user to scroll down through the list and make selections and then act upon those selections when they reach the bottom of the page, before clicking on to the next page.

Editable Patron Profile Fields - Edit AND/OR Add
Currently, when you allow patrons to edit patron profile fields like Email address, phone numbers, etc., you can Edit and Add. We don't want our patrons to Add in some cases, like Email, because when the patron does this in Vega, that means an additional z-tagged field in the record. Until Vega allows LX notices to go to more than 1 z-tagged field, we don't want patrons adding one and then wondering why they didn't get the notice to the e-mail address they just added. Improve roll-ups logic so the unlike items do not roll up together.
We have noticed several instances where unrelated titles roll-up together. We have noticed it the most in travel books. It seems to be a problem whenever we don't use a 1XX Marc Fields in a record and several items have the same 245, or in records where the 1XX field and 245 are the same but are in fact different books. Travel books are a problem, but I've seen this in items where there is a adult and juvenile or teen version of an item, where a classic book has a graphic novelization or even in two completely unrelated items…

Remove routing codes from locations in item display
We have libraries complain that patron are confused due to the routing codes being present after the owning library in the Vega display (see screenshot).
It would be great if we can somehow mask this, or add the locations to the translation file to get rid of this display.

Contributor info in edition "i" area to better tell the actual difference between editions
Add contributors, such as translator, illustrator or foreword author to the edition bib-frame info "i" window to better distinguish between different editions of a title. Most people are likely looking for contributors when choosing between editions.

Search via shortcut codes
I have had a couple of libraries ask me about this:
will we be able to use the abbreviations from advanced search like in Encore in Vega? i.e. c:117 limits to my library, f:a. I use that all the time to help patrons and find resources quicker both in Sierra and Encore.

Some libraries like to use the shortcut codes—once you know them, it’s faster and easier than using the facets to narrow down your search.

Have Vega pull literary form from 655 fields or 6xx $v subfields, instead of 006/16.
This would provide for significantly more flexibility and allow for the use of more modern genre/form terms, such as 'graphic novels'.

Allow custom DNS sites to use /staff for access
We leverage discover.rhpl.org for our Vega Discover Premium catalog access but to access our staff portal we have to remember to use https://rhpl.na3.iiivega.com/staff/
Please allow premium users leveraging custom DNS to use their custom domain for /staff access as well.
