Utilize 341 and 532 to provide accessibility tags for print disabled patrons
Due to the Marrakesh treaty the 341 and 532 tags were created to make accessibility tags for print disabled patrons. Vega should enable the tags to make these tags available in Vega. I am attaching a sample from the National Network for equitable library services as an example.

Make the language facet use the language from 008 field only
The 008 is the field we would prefer to use for the language facet and no other field. The 008 only field is consistently used in all our records. We stopped using the 240 fields in bib records, because that caused problems in Vega. The only time we use the 041 is when a title is bilingual. It would be a huge amount of work to update all our bib records. It is complicated how it currently works, and search results are confusing.

Improving search with stemming and truncation
We have noticed that stemming in Vega Discover seems to work mainly for English. For example, ‘history’ also retrieves ‘histories’, but the Swedish word ‘historia’ does not retrieve ‘historier’. Since we are a Swedish library, it is important that stemming also works effectively for Swedish, not only for English.
As stemming can be challenging and sometimes unreliable, truncation is a vital complement. Truncation gives users more control and helps capture all inflected forms or compound variations of a word (which is especially important in Swedish). Google Analytics Field in Vega
Could you please add support for a single configuration field where we can paste our Google Analytics Measurement ID (tracking key)? Ideally, this would be a dialog box or settings field in the admin/back-end interface that automatically injects the Google Analytics script across the site once the key is provided.
This will allow us to manage our own Google Analytics account without requiring us to write custom scripts to go in page footers, etc.

Sort Serial Holdings With Latest Issue at Top
We'd like Vega to sort the volumes in a serial holdings display with the latest issues at the top for easy patron access.
For example, we have People magazine, with hundreds of items in our holdings. With the PAC display, the lastest issues are listed at the top, descending from there by date, so patrons can easily see what the latest issue is that we have and can quickly place a hold (see attached file "pac-request-list" screenshot). Randomize Showcase Displays
Showcases can only be sorted chronologically by publication date or alphabetically by title. We'd like to have 'random' as an option, so that the showcase would be sorted randomly each time the page / showcase loads.

Display information for everything by one author
When someone clicks on the author name for an item, they should be brought to a search result that shows all items by that author available in their library system. Currently, we're brought to a page that looks like what I've attached and it's quite annoying to try and view everything and look for availability. If a patron is looking for information about an author, they're not likely to go looking in the library catalog. Advanced Search
Currently the advanced search option is pretty unhelpful for patrons. All it really does is define what a Boolean search is and not particularly in a way that makes sense to someone who doesn't already have knowledge of what a Boolean search is. Advanced search needs to bring people to a place where they are given more guidance with multiple search boxes to help guide them more. It needs to make sense to patrons who have no clue how Boolean operators work or even what they are, not for librarians who were taught about this in school.

Maintain Custom URL During Password Resets etc.
We use a custom URL search.bccls.org that patrons are accustomed to. When they go to do a password reset or other account related things they are redirected to the na4 URL which causes concern. We would like to submit an idea that custom URLs remain consistent throughout the Vega Discover experience.

Ingest Name Authority Records into Vega Discover
I think that ingesting name authority records into Vega Discover would improve capturing name tracings in the 400 field, so that for example if Samuel Langhorne Clemens is searched, Mark Twain's works will also appear etc.

Item Record Summary in List View

Editable Patron Profile Fields - Edit AND/OR Add
Currently, when you allow patrons to edit patron profile fields like Email address, phone numbers, etc., you can Edit and Add. We don't want our patrons to Add in some cases, like Email, because when the patron does this in Vega, that means an additional z-tagged field in the record. Until Vega allows LX notices to go to more than 1 z-tagged field, we don't want patrons adding one and then wondering why they didn't get the notice to the e-mail address they just added. Option to suppress holds postition in queue in patron account
We would like to have the option to suppress the patron's holds position in the queue from displaying. We don't have it display in our current PAC and we don't want it to display in Vega either due to it being misleading since the algorithm prioritizes a library's own patrons first which often changes the order.

Remove Grey Cover Images for Titles Not In Collection
In the "more in this series" area provided by syndetics, a grey cover image is displayed if the title does not exist in the collection. This creates confusion for the patron who sees a title that isn't there. When clicked on, it takes the patron to a keyword search, which creates even more confusion. We would like this to be optional. Right now, there is no way to turn off grey cover images without taking away a large part of Discover functionality. Search via shortcut codes
I have had a couple of libraries ask me about this:
will we be able to use the abbreviations from advanced search like in Encore in Vega? i.e. c:117 limits to my library, f:a. I use that all the time to help patrons and find resources quicker both in Sierra and Encore.
