  2. We've had a few questions from patrons regarding cancelled holds not displaying on Vega but showing up on their classic Polaris PAC account screen. We'd like this feature on Vega as well as possibly explore the option to allow patrons to resign back up for the holds queue from that same screen (much like you do with a suspended held item). Thanks!

  6. On the Holds tab, it lists how many holds you have, but not how many have arrived. This would allow patrons who have a lot of items on hold to know exactly how many to expect at pick up.

  7. In a consortium environment the admin staff will often have to make changes to every library in its system. Having the option to view all the libraries in one page instead of 10 at a time. The addition of having the option to "open in a new tab" when right-clicking the Edit button under actions would be helpful as well to keep organized as the current system of going back to the Library Defaults page can sometimes cause confusion when navigating back to the next library.

  9. In Vega Discover, when executing a passthrough search, the external link icon is used as a button. This UI is confusing to patrons, who are expecting the catalog name to be the link or looking for a button that looks more like the other buttons on the page.
    When the passthrough search only has one option, the option is a link, and that behavior is preferred. On the resource page, when there are more than one option, the external link icon appears, and the behavior is different.   10. It would be nice if adult books (even those with relatively low reading levels) returned Reading Level readalikes of other adult books (rather than j titles). James Patterson's "The House of Kennedy" is an adult title, Vega indicates that the publisher's recommended age and grade range is 18+ years, yet the reading level suggestions include Dog Man/Pilkey and the Good Egg/Jory John

  11. I received the following from a school superintendent in our service area, and I think this would be a beneficial enhancement to Vega for students and school staff:

    We store the Lexile level in our local student information system. This means that pretty easily, we could show the parents their kid's level, then link to the two local library districts with some instructions on how to filter and search. But as I shared, they still have to do a lot of clicking to get to that screen where they can filter on level and subject.

  12. To manage staff accounts across a consortium, we need to be able to associate users with each other by library. It would be very useful to have a piece of metadata for staff accounts that identifies which library(ies) they work for.

    This would:
    1. Make it easier to filter users when looking at the long list of all users.
    2. Let people have control over the showcases created by others in their organization but not the entire system - currently, we can't let librarians publish their own showcases because we don't want them to have consortia-level control to all showcases.…

  13. Patrons don't often think about cancelling a hold until they have received a notice. By that time, it is already in transit or on the holds shelf. This is often when they want to cancel, but cannot. There is an idea listed about suppressing the Cancel option for items that cannot be cancelled. This would be a partial solution, but for our library, the true need is to allow patrons to cancel items that have already been trapped for them.

  14. Our libraries do not use the Always Show a Call Number Option. We only want a call number to display if it's the expected library for the patron. Because of this the Find a Copy link does not always appear if only a few libraries have the item. We would like it to show consistently as removing it creates an extra step & an inconsistent experience when browsing. Clicking on "Find a copy" is helpful even if only a few libraries have the item since it pulls up the whole list of libraries that own the item and doing so…

  15. When using the hold shelf functions of IMMS (Intelligent material Management System), customers are unable to see in Vega which hold shelf their items are ready to pickup on.

    Workarounds are required by staff to fill this gap, and customers are encouraged to use other applications which does show this information.

    It would be great to have the hold shelf placement details displayed in Vega, for items ready for pickup.

  16. This will help staff let patrons know where the notice will be sent when placing a hold on their behalf. It will also show patrons where to expect the notice to be sent to when they place holds.

    The red box in the attached screenshot would say the following:

  17. We noticed that Discover users focus on the “On the shelf” list and miss “Find a Copy”. We would like to submit a feature request to have “Find a Copy” more prominently displayed. The three ways to do this in order of preference:

    1. Above “On the shelf” reversing the two locations + larger icon and font
    2. Next to “On the shelf” so both are on the same line + larger icon and font
    3. Larger icon and font where it currently resides on the page

  18. We generally prefer serial bibs for multi-volume graphic novels over individual bibs for each volume. Syndetics doesn't seem to understand this set-up. Only the first volume in the series is in color, while the other volumes (which are reflected as ISBNs in the serial bib, and as item records) are grayed-out. This is misleading to patrons. Syndetics should recognize our holdings from all the ISBNs in the bib record.

  19. patrons would like the ability to place a hold on a title and freeze that hold until they need it, even if that title has no other holds. Now, as in Encore, if a title has no other holds you can't place a freeze on it

  20. We often re-use images for our Vega home page, specifically the Hero, and there is no way to quickly access those images - you are forced to upload again and again. For example, maybe we opt to promote/use one of our Hero images every 3 months for a particular service. When you go to promote that service again, you have to try and find the artwork you stored locally again, upload.
