  1. Patrons don't often think about cancelling a hold until they have received a notice. By that time, it is already in transit or on the holds shelf. This is often when they want to cancel, but cannot. There is an idea listed about suppressing the Cancel option for items that cannot be cancelled. This would be a partial solution, but for our library, the true need is to allow patrons to cancel items that have already been trapped for them.

  2. We would like to have the ability to sort Edition Information for an item by other identifiers such as Availability, Publisher, etc. This will help with customizing the user's experience a bit more when looking at the particular editions that they would like.

  3. Users have requested a "Select" option when viewing checkouts, holds, etc. in My Bookshelf. Ideally, this option would behave the same way it works in Innovative Mobile; users would be able to specify multiple titles and then renew them at the same time. The "bulk renew" option that was recently added to Vega Discover sort of addressed this, but users want to be able to select specific titles.

  4. We noticed that Discover users focus on the “On the shelf” list and miss “Find a Copy”. We would like to submit a feature request to have “Find a Copy” more prominently displayed. The three ways to do this in order of preference:

    1. Above “On the shelf” reversing the two locations + larger icon and font
    2. Next to “On the shelf” so both are on the same line + larger icon and font
    3. Larger icon and font where it currently resides on the page

  5. patrons would like the ability to place a hold on a title and freeze that hold until they need it, even if that title has no other holds. Now, as in Encore, if a title has no other holds you can't place a freeze on it

  7. This would allow the patron to do a search for something like "cake pans", for example, and have the results come up in the catalog if it was listed in the library of things collection in either LibCal's Tickets & Passes module or Lending Key. Similarly, a search for "botanical gardens" could bring up a record for the museum pass that was in the collection in the LibCal's Tickets & Passes module or Museum Key. Then the patron could reserve the pass or item directly from the catalog.

  8. We have several libraries that have different summer hours than their regular hours throughout the year and some that have different hours for a specific section of their library like a children's room, for example. It would be great to have the ability to distinguish between these when posting hours, and not just to have one set of hours that can be posted for a library.

  11. We've had a few questions from patrons regarding cancelled holds not displaying on Vega but showing up on their classic Polaris PAC account screen. We'd like this feature on Vega as well as possibly explore the option to allow patrons to resign back up for the holds queue from that same screen (much like you do with a suspended held item). Thanks!

  13. Currently, we can refine our search for New Materials to: week, month, quarter, year. We are accustomed to seeing new materials catalogued within a day. Please add 'Day' to the Select Period options in the New Materials limiter.

  14. In the Localization settings configuration page, all languages listed can be selected or unselected except for English (US). Although we can make a different one the default, for those countries wanting to have a different English option (CA in our case), we have no option but having two English languages listed in the drop down menu. We would like to be able to suppress the English (US) option.

  15. It would be nice if patrons were able to renew OverDrive via Vega or at the very least be provided with some explanation indicating that those interested in attempting to renew a title go directly to the OverDrive/Libby catalog to do so.

  16. We would like the ability to see our custom domain links directly on the Vega Sites configuration page. While we understand that adding new custom domain links may not be within our control, it would be extremely helpful to have the existing reference links displayed on this page. Currently, we rely on memory and archived emails between support staff to track these links, but having them visible within the configuration page would provide a more streamlined and efficient experience. Attached is a visual reference.

  18. Please allow us to enter dates to schedule an announcement post to go up on a certain date and also allow us to enter an unpublishing date to have it drop off. This is a must when a library needs to use time-sensitive announcements, including planned facility issues or any number of these.

  19. Create a sort by hold placement option. This would allow customers to view the list of holds based on their spot in the hold queue, which enable them to view titles are coming sooner and see what will likely come later.

  20. Integrate into Vega the capability for patrons to create their own notifications using advanced search filtering. For example, patrons could choose to receive a text through IPA:SMS whenever a specific author releases new material at our library. Additionally, they could opt to receive a weekly email with a predefined search filter, such as Availability (At Library), Format (Book), Collection (Adult Non-Fiction), New Material (This week), focusing on the topic "Nature".
