  1. For libraries with a large number of collection sites, it becomes labor-intensive to manually create entries for each site. It would improve workflow if an event could be assigned to multiple collections sites when it's being created. There could also be a "Global Event" type that would add it to all collections sites.

  2. Currently, when a user gets to the end of the configured images, they have to use the back arrow. It would be a better user experience if the hero carousel navigated to the first image.

  3. Showcase cover art has the flexibility to expand and contract across various sizes, resulting in a challenging navigation experience when displaying these items. To enhance user experience, consider either enforcing a consistent display size for cover art or, at the very least, maintaining uniform sizes for all showcases. For a visual representation of the issue, please refer to the attached image.

  4. It appears that editing a site name after its creation is not feasible. While the "Library Name" can be modified, there seems to be a limitation in altering the displayed "Site name" in your list of configured locations. Please refer to the included image where the issue is highlighted in yellow.

  5. After creating a site in the site configuration, you can limit to a specific location like main library or branch library. I would like to be able to chose all of our locations but be able to specify a "home" library which would reorder the collection location identical to when you log in to an account. This "home library" would still show all the locations having copies but would reorder them giving a specific location preference. You could also use this to select and display specific hours and info in the library info window. I'm thinking of this for an…

  6. We would like to have shelf location added as a facet in Vega in addition to collections. We use shelf locations for genres like Mystery, Urban Fiction, Science Fiction, and Graphic Novels that aren't reflected in our collection codes. There is currently no way for patrons to search by shelf location in Vega, so it's very frustrating for patrons trying to look for just Graphic Novels, for example. We would rather have shelf locations added as a facet than have to change all of our shelf locations to collections.

  7. I have worked at my current library for close to 6 months now. I cannot begin to describe the number of times a patron tells me they do not understand Vega Discover, or how to find out where an item is shelved. The filled in large green check mark is too distracting and confusing to patrons. That is a complaint I have heard repeatedly. The small open not filled in check mark with the library name is not visible enough to patrons, nor is it super obvious it's a hyperlink to the call number.

This particular piece of Vega Discover…

  8. Could we please get a "Remember Me" option for the account login page? Our patrons would like their devices to autofill in their library card numbers.

  9. We have the ability to see item availability within grid view on the regular Vega Discover site, but will not see that on the grid view within the customized Kids'/Themed (Kiosk) page. Please incorporate this for ease of visability within Kids'/Themed homepages. I've attached two screenshots showing the green/red boxes on a regular Vega Discover grid view versus the Kids'/Themed view.

  10. Empower premium users, accustomed to customization control, with a broader array of choices for displaying Cover Carousels. This includes options such as adjusting title character length, call numbers, and author character length. Additionally, provide more customization capabilities, such as the ability to modify box shapes and patterns. Furthermore, grant libraries the flexibility to select the size of cover jacket art presented on the homepage (small, medium, large, extra-large).

  11. Firstly, thank you for introducing custom pills – it's fantastic! However, we're encountering challenges while managing a large showcase page for the kids' catalog due to the limitation on the number of items within a pill.

    https://kidscategories-rhpl.na3.iiivega.com

If we aim to maintain a list of, let's say, 32 items alphabetically and occasionally want to add more, we find ourselves having to reconstruct all pills from scratch. This process is quite inconvenient. While we are willing to adapt if necessary, addressing this limitation would greatly enhance our experience.

We can see the benefits of pills spilling over into the Promote Web…

  12. the library would like patrons to be able to see patrons that are linked in Sierra. For instance, to allow a patron to renew their kids items under their Juvenile accounts, in bulk at once or flipping to that account view for renewing without re-logging in, or see and/or pay their fines, etc, because the accounts are linked in Sierra.

  13. Allow more than 10 "exceptions" to library hours. The 10-exception limit often does not allow for a full year's worth of closed dates to be listed, which makes it feel incomplete. The limit also means that admins will have to go back and make edits more frequently to both remove passed days and add the next exceptions, instead of adding all exceptions at the beginning of the year and simply removing passed holidays as they happen. (It would also be cool if the passed days could disappear automatically.)

I would also like "closed" to be the default type of exception…

  14. List all the movies/shows included on each disc in the set, so if a set doesn't have what a patron is looking for, we don't order it uselessly. Some items appear when you search for a specific title that is included, and some don't. Sometimes you can find the title in Sierra and sometimes you can't. Staff claim in Encore they were always able to see what which were included in these volumes/mega sets and they found it useful.

  15. Vega currently blocks item-level requests where one location attached does not lend the items, even though other locations will. The items that do not ILL are causing Vega to fail the request. This forces the patron to click the request button for all the editions/locations in the rollup until they find a library that will ILL the item.
Eliminate that painful patron experience by having Vega do that work for them. This should be set at the Consortium level as it is not an issue in the Collection Sites.

  16. There are times when it makes sense to edit the pickup location text or reorganize the listing. Our consortia central offices processes ILL requests for the correctional facilities in our region and also recieves items in delivery for cataloging and staff requests. We are not open to the public. The pickup location is necessary as a selection, but we would like to move it to the end of the list and label it with "Staff Use Only", as we did in Encore. Another example is a temporary closure or access issue that could be communicated at the time of selection

  17. When trying to export a bookmarked list to your email, it doesn't actually export anything to your email. Instead, you're sent a link that just takes you back to your bookmark list in Vega.

It would be helpful to have Vega actually export a text-based list to your email. Example in the picture is of the email you receive with the link back to Vega.

  18. On Order items and non-circulating items with holdings records (e.g. newspapers) do not appear in the search results on collection sites for consortia setup. Rather, they only appear in the search results for the global site.

  19. Sierra libraries that are currently using the cumbersome ipsso integrated login page have to keep using that page if they move to Vega. Polaris libraries can use a unique to Vega login page/widget that needs little to no configuration. (Correct me if I'm wrong about that.) We would have loved to ditch our crusty old ipsso page and not have to worry about it anymore when we bring Vega online but as a Sierra library we don't have that option.

  20. In the Location Drawer, there is a search box that offers the user a place to narrow the results based on call number, edition date, etc. When the user changes the location, the results update to the desired location and the search term(s) is retained in the search box, but the results don't reflect the inclusion of the search term. The user must click in the search box and manually re-execute the search. This is not intuitive at all. Retaining the search term while updating the results to a different chosen location implies that the results include the effect of…
