  2. We had a patron complaint that the email notices do not include magazine issue information, only the main title. The notices also do not include item barcodes, so there isn't any data to match against a specific issue. Could information from the Issue field in the item record be displayed in overdue notices?

  3. Allow libraries to bulk change due dates of items to account for unexpected closures. Would be ideal to be able to do this from a records set. Or create a SQL job and put it in GitHub or some other accessible location for libraries.

  4. Because new is both a location and a status, it would be helpful to have an item level field in LEAP that is for "new" items. A simple checkbox would be sufficient, like "holdable" or "display in PAC." This would free up shelf location for any items that are both new and in a specific area, such as Travel, World, Graphic, etc.

  7. Currently, when a user clicks on the library’s logo in the PAC header, we can specify a URL that opens. However, when they click it, the URL defaults to opening in the same page rather than in a new tab, causing the user to lose their PAC page and possibly their search results.

    It would be helpful to have a branch-level option to change that default to open a new tab instead. It could be included with the other configuration options under Profiles > PowerPAC > Page Header Options in System Administration.

  8. Be able to bulk add stat codes. Currently we can only add at the branch level manually because the library and system level tables are too large. This requires a manual change or contracting Polaris every time we want to add stat codes for all locations.

  9. The Polaris Transactions database TransactionID is an int data type. This 2,147,483,647 means the biggest number supported by the database. In our busy system, we're about halfway through the available TransactionIDs as we're about to reach 1 billion. This field should be moved up to a bigint data type. Otherwise inserting new data will fail.

  10. It would be nice to have the ability to set different email notice schedules for each branch.
    We would like to line up our notice delivery times with the operating hours of our branches, or allow more frequent hold notice emails at a specific branch.

  11. Currently the default option is to charge the patron when doing a damaged item check-in (see screenshot). We would like the default to either be changed to NOT charge the patron, or we would like to be given the option to choose the default ourselves so we can change it to what we want just for our consortium.

  12. In Simply Reports, add ‘Hold activation date’ as an option under ‘Hold relative date filters’ for Hold List reports.
    We want to be able to use this report to provide a list of holds 45 days or more not filled based on the Hold activation date.

  13. It's currently very easy to see handling details for received INN-Reach and Item level local holds in hold shelf status from the hold request in Leap (by clicking Satisfied By). In these cases, only the item that has filled the request appears. It is NOT at all easy to get to these details for other hold shelf and hold in transit items that originated with a bib-level hold request. When clicking Satisfied By for these requests, you see all items attached to the bib record plus their activity, requiring add'l detective work to narrow down the specific copy that filled…

The usefulness of the OmniSearch box in Leap would be greatly enhanced by the addition of operators and Power Search (CCL) features so an experienced Polaris user could execute their search right away, in the OmniSearch, and get the results back in a Find Tool. As it is, if I want to search for, say, an item record, I need to:

    1. Click Find to launch the Find Tool
    2. Change the search type to Item Records
    3. Change whatever parameters I need to change after that.
    4. Maybe add a filter or two and then apply those filters
    5. Go back to the Find…

  15. You cannot output or filter on Hold Pickup Areas in SimplyReports. Not being able to report on them limits their usefulness for things like looking at which schools are busiest or which bookmobile stops are most active. The information is available in hold request data and in transaction details.

    Although we can add it as a custom output that will only show the ID which is of limited value to staff.

  16. I think it would be helpful to automatically create an association between accounts when creating a new account by copying an existing one, e.g., using a parent's account to create a child's account. The Block and Allow options should still be checked manually, though.
    The association could be removed after account creation, if necessary.

  17. In our 21-branch library system, staff need the ability to mark items as Damaged or Missing—even if the item is not owned or assigned to their specific branch. Currently, the process requires multiple logins and workstation changes, creating inefficiencies that impact service.

    We've encountered lots of item management issues since migrating from SirsiDynix Symphony. Most recent issue was with handling lost-and-returned items. Specifically, when a customer returns a lost item to a branch that does not own it, and the item is damaged, staff struggle to process it effectively.   18. Our staff complete weekly and monthly checks on hold requests to ensure our customer holds are being fulfilled in a timely manner.

    To do so, staff check the hold status (Active vs Inactive), age of the hold against the hold type (item or bib level), number of available copies, and number of holds in the bib level queue.   19. Our ILL clerk would like to be able to see the due date for ILLs from the request manager, so she can make sure that the dates have been added correctly to these items. She currently has to go into each item individually to make sure they were correct.

  20. For TV series that have multiple volumes, or other volumed series associated with the same Bib record, I would like it when it prompts me about which volume I would like to place a hold on, to also give me the option to place a hold on all volumes.
