Make it possible to save / share Power Searches in Leap outside of the individual level
Enhance operational efficiency and standardization by allowing the saving of Leap power searches beyond individual staff profiles. Currently, saved power searches reside only at the personal level, hindering consistent workflows and leading to duplicated effort. Enabling system- or library-level saving for power searches will allow libraries to establish shared, robust searches, improving consistency and ensuring critical search capabilities remain accessible regardless of staff changes.

Cancel Holds in Bulk Based on Item Circ Status
We’d like the ability to “bulk” cancel holds for items by status (lost, missing, withdrawn, etc.) either by being able to view the circulation status in the patron holds view, or by having the ability to “bulk” cancel holds from a record set.

Create a Back End Updating Feature
A few days ago, we discovered an issue in Polaris. It wasn't a huge problem, but it was a bit disturbing for our cataloguers in that they encountered an error when trying to open up a record set. I checked with others in the IUG and, sure enough, there were other libraries who'd seen the same problem.
So I put in a ticket through the Supportal and received a prompt response. It was a known issue (though it wasn't on the list of Known Issues) and there was a patch available for it. I was asked if I'd like the…

Auto suggest volumes while adding items to a bib record
When creating a new item record on a bib, it would be wonderful if while typing in the volume field, Leap automatically suggested volumes from other items attached to that particular bib. This would help ensure standardization of how the volume is entered on each item record (eg. V.1 vs V. 1 vs. V.01) while also allowing the libraries to add a new volume number for volumes 2, 3, etc. since it would suggest while typing rather than changing the volume field to be a drop down menu of pre-defined options.

Add "You Saved" Text to PAPI Checkout
When items are checked out through SIP2, Polaris includes the "You just saved __ by using the library" text in the response. However, this information is not available when using the ItemCheckout method through PAPI.
As we start moving vendors away from SIP2 and towards PAPI, we'd like to replicate the functionality of SIP2.
Thanks

Additional UI Customization Options
Across our consortium, we have some library staff who exclusively use Leap, some who exclusively use the Remote Client, and some who use both depending on the task.
Currently, there is only one system-level setting responsible for the Visual Alert Configuration (top banner color) in Leap & the Remote Client. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work well given that Leap has a light font color and the Client has a dark font color across the top, so to achieve an ideal level of contrast for both versions simultaneously is impossible.
To improve accessibility for all users, regardless of the version of Polaris…

Ability to remove spaces from call numbers in Leap
When the callnumber column is pulled from itemrecorddetails via SQL (as opposed to SimplyReports) it includes trailing and leading spaces. It's easy to fix these unwanted spaces in the client, but they don't show up at all in Leap, so can't be fixed. If Leap is to replace the client eventually, it would be great to able to fully edit these fields in Leap (we are hosted, so can't easily modify the data via SQL).

Include All Patron Duplicate Detection Settings in the API
Currently the API only performs basic duplicate detection (name, birthdate, barcode, username, and optionally the name on ID) when a patron record is created using the PatronRegistrationCreate call. It does not apply other optional settings - email, phone 1, or the UDFs - these only get applied directly in Polaris or the PAC. This idea is for including these optional settings in the API logic.

Add granularity to One-Click Request feature
We recently had a location close for a few weeks for a construction project. During that time, we turned it off as a holds pickup option in the PAC. However, patrons who were logged into their accounts and had that location as their default holds pickup location could still place holds for pickup at that location using One-Click. The only way to completely stop patrons placing holds for pickup at our closed location was to disable One-Click completely. This annoyed patrons at our locations that remained open, who saw a popular feature of the PAC disappear without warning for seemingly…

Reverting to what the bibliographic record (or any authority record for that matter) was when it was last saved
When you want to get rid of a bunch of edits, but only the ones made since the last save, it saves time to have just one button to click on. For example, when you want to validate juvenile headings, you need to take out |v Fiction for each heading. If they are all good, you want it back in each heading.

Inventory Check-in
Inventory Check-in via Leap is recorded as Check-ins for Item Statistic reports in SimplyReports. A way to filter inventory check-ins from statistical reports would be nice.

Printing workslips in Leap for the received PO lines
Receiving from the PO and printing workslips with one command.
Or at least keep the check marks of the selected PO lines to receive and then to print slips to avoid selecting the same PO lines twice.13 votes -
bulk add "stat code"
Be able to bulk add stat codes. Currently we can only add at the branch level manually because the library and system level tables are too large. This requires a manual change or contracting Polaris every time we want to add stat codes for all locations.

Reading History
When checking out a material and the the patron has history turned on, a pop-up appears saying this patron had out this item with a date or a number of days ago, so the patron doesn't check it out and immediately return it, especially would be helpful with ILL requests.

Change default for Damaged Item Check-in
Currently the default option is to charge the patron when doing a damaged item check-in (see screenshot). We would like the default to either be changed to NOT charge the patron, or we would like to be given the option to choose the default ourselves so we can change it to what we want just for our consortium.

Change "None" for Pickup Areas to "Walk-in" or "Inside" or "Regular"
Currently, when a patron selects a library for a hold in the PAC and Pickup Areas are enabled, the default option is "None" which might not make as much sense to them, and they might think they have to select one of the other options (if there are any). Can "None" be changed to something more intuitive like "Walk-in" or "Inside" or "Regular"?

Weeding Record Set Functionality
The weeding workflow and weeding record sets were added to LEAP in Polaris 7.5. I would like some more functionality in the weeding record sets at all stages of the approval process -- namely being able to bulk change and delete records from the set, being able to remove records from an approved record set, and being able to unapprove a list.
I know there are options in the weeding template to change the record status to withdrawn and have the records automatically deleted when approved. However, we change our records to a status of "weeded" (we took over bindery)…

Display warning before removing/deleting items from Polaris PAC Saved Title List
There is currently no warning if a patron selects titles in one of their saved title lists with the intent to place a request but then accidentally clicks the Remove button instead.
Providing either a warning message, as is the case for things like canceling holds, or putting deleted titles in something like a trash can for 30 days or so, would prevent accidental deletion and related frustration and improve the user experience.

Improvements to Multiple Holds
The multiple holds feature in Leap is really nice - unless you want to make sure that a bib you're selecting is actually the thing you want, the need for a preview option has been suggested in another Idea Exchange submission.
Another common use for multiple holds is creating what we at DPL call "Teacher Sets" where staff pull a bunch of topical items based on criteria provided by a teacher, place holds on them and then check them in to fill those requests and contact the customer.
Right now this is really clunky. Since there is no option to…
