  1. We would like there to be an option to add a note when resolving lost item charges, processing fees, and overdue fees when checking in a Lost item. Currently, if we want to add a note when waiving processing fees or overdue fees, we have to first charge the fees, then go to the patron record and waive from there after the fact, just so we can add the notes. It would be much easier if we could add the notes right on the screen that pops up (see screenshot).

  2. We would like the ability to update the inventory date directly via a record set. Currently, to update the date for recently checked-in items, we must generate a text file of barcodes and upload it through the Check In - Inventory workform. We are hoping for a feature that allows us to edit inventory dates within a record set, similar to the 'edit due dates' function.

  3. Love the new Dated Notes section with the 8.0 upgrade, however, we would like to be able to bulk move the existing non-blocking and blocking notes to the new Dated Notes fields and then disable the old Notes section.

    I know the non-blocking notes can be suppressed to not appear at checkout, but I'm referring to disabling all blocking and nonblocking notes allowing staff to only use the new Dated Notes section.

    I think it will cause confusion for member library staff to have both Notes sections enabled and nearly impossible to get them all to agree to use one…

  4. Our member libraries would like to have their admission passes (Material Type 'Pass') configured for a 3 or 4 business day pickup window, whereas all other material types are configured for 10 days. (10 days is too long to hold admission passes for pickup, but makes sense for everything else.) I could see where this might be beneficial for other material types also.

  8. We'd like to block patrons from checking out on selfcheck units if they have lost items. Even though Polaris SA has a configuration in place, that setting only works for API setup, not sip2. we'd like to have a similar setting for sip2.

  9. I would like to be able to edit the transaction notes field in a patron account summary. We recently had an instance come up where someone forgot to add information to an item that a patron was being charged for. It would be nice to be able to go in and edit it after the fact as opposed to having to delete the charge and start over.

  10. We’d like the ability to “bulk” cancel holds for items by status (lost, missing, withdrawn, etc.) either by being able to view the circulation status in the patron holds view, or by having the ability to “bulk” cancel holds from a record set.

  11. A few days ago, we discovered an issue in Polaris. It wasn't a huge problem, but it was a bit disturbing for our cataloguers in that they encountered an error when trying to open up a record set. I checked with others in the IUG and, sure enough, there were other libraries who'd seen the same problem.

  12. We would like to be able to adjust the timeout in Leap after inactivity ourselves. Currently, we have to contact support to do this after each upgrade, since it resets itself. If the setting was in SA, we could reset it ourselves after each upgrade.

  13. We need a way to bring perennial critical patron info to staff attention without creating blocks for customers or forcing staff to open the full patron registration. Having this info in the patron record header or properties would be ideal.   14. We would like to be able to have more options for configuring the Hold Pickup Slip. Our current hold pickup slip is printed using an older piece of Bibliotheca RFID software that is no longer supported. The software allows us to configure the position, orientation and font size of each element on the hold slip. We are also able to select the number of characters to print for each of those elements, for example, first 3 characters of the last name, first character of the first name, etc.

Allow for a pop-up when paying for an outside library's item, e.g. 'this is not your library's item, would you like to pay for it' hit continue or cancel, similar to when you're trying to scan a requested item that is meant for another patron. There have been times when a patron comes to pay for another library's item in cash, and unless the staff member checks to make sure that it's only overdue fees or fees that pertains to their particular library, they keep that outside library's payment. A patron doesn't have their library card number on hand, can there be a way to change the circ status to lost from the item record so the replacement cost can be automatically be charged to the current patron's record? At least from the owning library's side, I understand messing with anything in the 'Details' tab shouldn't be done by another library. Hopefully, it can be done with less hoops to jump through by going through the item history and making sure to select the correct patron or hitting any of the other tabs.

  18. We would like the ability to print an item's barcode while in Leap. We have items that either require multiple barcodes for processing or items that have lost their barcode and it would be nice to print these directly from Leap to the printer of our choice.

    Currently staff need to grab the barcode from Leap and then open a different software to print the barcode label.

We recently did an overhaul of our messaging in the notice strings to make things clearer for patrons, and we had issues with clear messaging for Almost Overdue and Autorenew notices, since there are sometimes two separate options for Almost Overdue and Autorenew notice strings, but not always. This only allows us to partially customize them separately, when we would like fully separate options. As a result, for certain strings, we are forced to be more vague, which is not ideal.

  20. When declaring an item lost on a customer account, there is no way to add more to the note on the resulting lost item charge. All that is in the note field is "Declared Lost". It is sometimes important to give more context to the charge and that is why being able to add a note would help!
