  1. There should be an option to block patrons from placing holds on items if there is only one owning library and the circulation status of the item is listed as missing or in storage. While in storage items should be visible to patrons in the OPAC since sometimes that item can be taken out of storage if a patron wants it, they shouldn't be able to place a hold if there's only one owning library and their only copy is listed as in storage. Like withdrawn items, missing items simply shouldn't show up at all for patrons as an option.

  2. Receiving from the PO and printing workslips with one command.
    Or at least keep the check marks of the selected PO lines to receive and then to print slips to avoid selecting the same PO lines twice.

  3. Please add a Save option for the full picklist so any items removed will stay removed.

    When we go to Utilities > Outreach Services > Picklist, we see the full picklist for all Outreach Services (ORS) patrons. We can find a title either by scrolling through the list or using the filter to search by patron or title. We can select the title and then press "Remove from list". The full picklist displays and the selected title no longer appears on the list.

    However, there isn't an option to Save here.

  4. In the 7.5 update, which introduces the ability to cancel items in "shipped" and "held" statuses, I suggest extending this cancellation privilege to staff members exclusively. When patrons cancel items that are on hold, those items are often already on the hold shelf, and the system's only notification to staff is by adding the item to the cancelled hold list.

    By allowing only staff to cancel holds, they could promptly remove the item from the shelf and cancel it directly, eliminating the need for setting an expiration date or other measures to force its expiration.

  5. It would be nice if Authorized User (custom field under Attribute on patron registration) can be added to the header in Leap so staff do not have to open up(click) the patron registration to see it.

    We would like for this field to be visible when staff opens the check out screen for a patron without having to open their registration screen.

  7. We think it would be helpful for patrons to see Waiver Requests as "Submitted" or "Pending", "Approved", and "Denied" for better understanding. See screenshot which illustrates the lack of that detail now.

  9. Our library went fines free, but still charge patrons if they place a hold, but do not come in to pick it up. We don't want to charge them to place the hold, but do want to charge if we transit the item, make it available, but they don't come get it. In lieu of fines, this is a major revenue stream for us. We are migrating to Polaris and are surprised to learn it does not offer this functionality. Please consider adding this!

  10. There can be accounts that are expired and are still able to check out ebooks. Expired accounts are no longer valid and should be blocking at least in the integration function between the ebook vendor and Polaris.
    If this isn't possible, can the checkout action trigger an email notice to the customer to have their library account renewed or reviewed.
    This should happen each day an integrated eContent transaction occurs.
    Keeping the account up to date will prevent the account from being closed or purged.

  11. It would be nice if we could separate the "holds ready for pick up" texts from the "renew" texts and be able to choose if you want one or the other or both. Customers would love to get a text for when their holds come in, but for some, the renewal texts are too much, and the pick up texts get lost in the volume. Then also, have the option to get renewals and/or pick up notices in their email.

  12. We had a staff member let us know that they had a credit on their personal account and they found the process of dealing with the credit to be a little frustrating. The credit did not automatically apply to their other fees and there was no way for them (as a patron) to tell the system to apply the credits. The only option was for the patron to get in touch with staff to have this taken care of. This would give the patrons more flexibility for managing their account.

  15. Most of our libraries loan the library of things and museum passes to their own patrons. However, since all members use Adult Resident patron code for their resident patrons, it is not possible to limit materials to their own patrons. Could a checkout setting be added to the item records, similar to the hold setting "patrons from this library and branches" and "x days past first available".

  16. When creating a new account in Leap, it would be helpful if when the date of birth was less than 18 years from the registration date AND a patron code for adult patrons was selected, that an alert would display prior to saving, as we see for missing DOBs or other fields.

    It should not be a hard block, as it is possible for someone under 18 to register as an adult, but the alert would catch attention to remind staff to confirm/correct during the registration process.

  18. Our previous LMS had functionality within the Solus app, where we could enter a collection code in the Solus CMS, and as new items were added in the collection it would automatically feed into a new items carousel on the app. It was a "set and forget" feature.

    With Polaris, it looks like our only options are to enter Bib IDs or ISBNs, or manually create & update Record Set IDs.

    It would be a great time saver if there was an option for an automated new items carousel. We raised the issue with our account manager who spoke to…

  19. Currently, the fund hierarchy report organizes at the Organization level by Org ID. This means that as new organization levels are added they drop to the bottom of the list, and I'm often looking at this from an alphabetical perspective. It would be helpful to have the option to organize the output alphabetically instead.
