Edit Half-Deleted Item Records
When doing clean up work we run into instances where we are not able to delete something like shelf locations because it is assigned to records that are in a deleted state. While we know we can just delete the records 1 more time, some of these records are tied to other things we track and would prefer to keep them in the system.
Currently we bulk change them at the server level but would like a way to be able to do this within the ILS.

Include Active Directory in web-based System Administration
The current method for changing a Polaris Staff Member's password is clunky and not ideal if part of a large library system. Additionally, all SA management is moving towards the web-based interface. It makes sense to incorporate staff password management into the SA web-based interface.

Generate Alert when Applying An Adult Patron Code for Minor Applicant
When creating a new account in Leap, it would be helpful if when the date of birth was less than 18 years from the registration date AND a patron code for adult patrons was selected, that an alert would display prior to saving, as we see for missing DOBs or other fields.
It should not be a hard block, as it is possible for someone under 18 to register as an adult, but the alert would catch attention to remind staff to confirm/correct during the registration process.

Ability to create reports with charts and graphs
I came across this report using a bar chart to reflect the Total Number of Items Added. Our staff would love the ability to create statistical reports and display them as bar, line, and or pie charts.

Simply Reports should run missed scheduled jobs
If there is an issue with a scheduled Simply Reports job, it must be rerun manually. This includes problems with the SQL Job Polaris scheduling executive. For example, if one report takes longer than 30 minutes to run, the scheduling executive won't allow another instance of that SQL job to start, causing reports to be missed. Additionally, reports can be missed if the server is offline for a variety of reasons including during upgrades. Simply Reports should check the last run date for the report and reschedule it if the elapsed time is greater than the scheduled interval.

Account Alert Banner
Indian Trails Library has several members who own 2 properties in 2 different CCS Library areas. Several times now these member's accounts were merged due to other library staff in other libraries not looking at the member's notes. This upsets the members and is more work for library staff to recreate the other account.
It would be great if there was a red banner like the "expired" banner on a member's account that owns two properties so that when any CCS library opens the member's account the red banner will alert them that this member owns to properties in the…

Customize text in Item History
We would like the ability to modify the description of the Item Record History Actions when it comes to renewals. Currently, when a renewal happens in the app, it lists it as "Renewal - third party software" which confused our library staff. We were told that is the wording for anything renewed via the Polaris API, but since (for now) the only thing we have renewing that way is the app, we'd like to change the wording to say "Renewal - Mobile App" so it's clearer for staff. Since not every library would want that same change, we'd like the…

Auto-populate the Until field with the date in the Dates Closed field when adding a new date to the Dates Closed table
Currently, when staff update their library's Dates Closed table for a single date in the future they are required to select/enter the same date in both the Dates Closed and the Until fields.
While it is just a couple additional clicks, having the Until field auto-populate with the same date that staff have selected/entered in the Date Closed field would improve the end user experience when they are entering a number of single dates at once.

Cache Busting for Theme CSS File
When the theme's scss file is edited and compiled, the version parameter on the stylesheet link in the HTML does not update. This means that browsers don't know to pull the updated css from the server if they have it cached, so the css updates won't apply for all users immediately due to browser caching. Here's an example of the line in the HTML with the version parameter:
<link type="text/css" rel=""https://yourlibrary.org/polaris/custom/themes/theme1/site.css?ver=7.1.14157.0">
It looks like the version parameter is based on the Polaris version, so I'm guessing it's automatically updated whenever Polaris is upgraded, but that doesn't help for theme adjustments…

Take free days into account when recording check-in date in item history
Hi there! We just had a situation with a patron where several items they returned in the book drop on 6/30 were checked in today 7/5, however they were back-dated to accommodate for the days the library was closed and prevent fees from accruing. But upon viewing the history in Leap for each of those items, the check-in date displays as 7/5 and does NOT show the 5 days back-date, which would've been 6/30. This is very confusing and misleading, as our patron spoke to the owning library about the items and the owning library said 'New Milford checked those…

Floating Close button in Patron Registration
Could we have it so the close button within the Patron Registration follows you as you scroll down like the "Save", "Renew", etc do? I often find myself nowhere near the top when I am done with a customer account and have to navigate all the way back up just to close the record. I could see this also being useful in Bib records

Enhance patron duplication check via PACREG application
Currently when someone applies through our Vega link (which goes to PowerPAC) for a library card and their name matches an existing cardholder, they get the following error message: "A patron with this name is already registered. Please contact the library for clarification."
It would be helpful if other fields could be cross-checked for duplicates, not just the first and last names. We receive numerous reports of this monthly from staff across the consortium, but we have no sense of how often it's actually happening.5 votes -
Different renewal period to check-out period
In our previous ILS, we had the ability for renewals to have a different renewal length compared to check out length. For example- books checked out for 28 days but renewals were 14 days.

Limit the number of active BBM requests a patron can have
Currently there is no mechanism to limit the number of active Borrower by Mail requests a patron can have. It would be beneficial for all libraries to be able to limit the number of active BBM requests a patron can have in Polaris.

It would be helpful if the PatronRegistrationCreate endpoint was able to write to the Patron Custom Data Fields.

Parse distributed and header taxes
Some locations need to apply both a distributed tax and a header tax to invoices (in Canada a PST and a GST). Currently, Polaris adds the percentage from the distributed tax to the header tax, so the total is higher than it should be. Libraries can work around this by reducing the header amount by the percentage of the distributed amount, but this is a fiddly process and sometimes results in rounding errors.
We would like to see Polaris parse the calculation of the header tax charge, so it no longer includes the distributed tax amount. Polaris should also round…

Allow library to alter default status for "Mark Unavailable" in Missing Part Checkin
This currently defaults to "Display," and displays with that status in PAC. Display is a non-circing status that is actually used for items in our special collections, so we can't rename it to something like "In Repair."
If system admin gave an option to set a default status when "Mark Unavailable" is selected from Missing Part Check In, it would streamline workflows as we wouldn't have to go back and change the status in the item record.

Enhanced Patron Privacy (UDF)
Patron Privacy is becoming a much larger issue. We currently use a UDF to hold our Patron ID.
We'd like to suggest that having the ability to create some way to collect and keep private patron data such as an ID or other PII would be ideal. And having this information encrypted in the database would be preferable as well.
Being able to prevent this information from always showing, would be a benefit and even having the ability to only show a part of that information, such as the last four digits or something similar, would be useful.

Add a parameter field for input to SQL searching
Could you please look into providing an input field on SQL Find tool searches to allow the library staff to easily enter a search parameter e.g. an items barcode, a patron barcode.
At the moment with the SQL FIND TOOL searches we have created, we must teach them to go to the WHERE clause and correctly change the parameter before re-executing the query.
A dedicated entry parameter would simplify the use and training of SQL searching using the FIND tool.5 votes -
Setting to automatically remove 650s with a second indicator of 6 (and other lines)
When downloading a record, have a setting that automatically removes certain lines (like 650s with a second indicator of 6).
