Navigate neighboring results without returning to results list
When I browse in the PAC (specifically, by call number) it provides a list of call numbers. I can choose one, and am brought to it. But, if I want to look at the neighboring items, I have to "Go back to Browse Results" and select the next one from the list. It would be much easier to arrow back/forward between results without returning to the results list.

Option to return to find results after record deletion
When a record (item, bib, etc.) is opened from Find results and then marked as deleted, it (and the Find results) are automatically closed. It would great if the record did not close (leaving the Results button available) or the record closed and returned the user to the Find results.

Leap lockouts due to incorrect password entry should have a unique error message
We had a front-line staff member contact us because he was getting a "The domain, username or password is incorrect" error message when he tried to log in to Leap. Support was able to tell us that he was locked out because he had incorrectly typed his password five times. They confirmed that the error message that will be shown when this happens is "The domain, username or password is incorrect." Not only is that error message text factually untrue, it is identical to the error message that a staff person sees if their password actually IS being entered incorrectly.…

Bib record conversion from AACR2 to RDA
It would be a real timesaver if Polaris could automatically convert AACR2 records to RDA records upon import. Even if only partial changes could be made, it would be a big help to our catalogers.

Card renewal to update Last Activity Date
Currently, staff modifications to patron registration including card renewal do not update the Patron Last Activity Date (LAD). As more libraries move towards long or no expiration periods, LAD becomes even more important for patron database maintenance. We have seen cases in which patrons renew their card without any additional activity resulting in their record being purged during cleanup. Including renewal and/or extending the card expiration period in LAD will better allow libraries to track patron engagement.

API to Update Bibliographic Records
I'm specifically looking for a great integration between the cataloging tool BTCat and Polaris.
Libraries use tools like BTCat and Skyriver to search for new bib records and update/edit existing records. After making changes, the records currently have to be exported from the cataloging software, then imported into Polaris. These tools have the ability to "push" records into other ILS systems, skipping the need for a manual export/import of records. Adding this functionality would aid libraries in transitioning away from the Polaris desktop client (as bibliographic editing in Leap is a tedious process, at best).

I'm going to set this to "Planned" for now because the integration is not live with BTCat yet. But the development piece required for Polaris has been done. Please let BTCat know you are interested!!

Copy to create new INLI in Leap
In Polaris, when you are in an INLI you can click the New button you get the option to Copy Existing Work Form. The new INLI retains some values from the existing one (e.g. fund, title, author).
In LEAP you need to exit the INLI, and then click the New Line Item button, which does not fill in any of the information. Makes adding line items slower and more repetitive when you need to re-enter everything.21 votes -
Purge Settings for Report Files in SimplyReports
We'd like added the ability to purge report downloads from SimplyReports that are sitting in user folders. This would include deleting ad hoc report, scheduled report, and saved report extracts from their respective user folders after a specified number of days.
Currently these settings are listed under the Admin section of SimplyReports, but we only found out recently there is no process tied to the settings. We'd like to see this functionality built. Details about their unavailability can be found in the SimplyReports help article "Set the general application defaults" (bottom).

OPAC: Change password request should notify patron and update modification date in patron registration.
Currently, when a patron changes their password via the OPAC (change logon > change password), no notification is made to the customer nor is the modification date in the patron registration record updated.
I would like to see an email/SMS notification be issued to the customer when a password is changed via this method as well as have the modification date updated.

Add a "Display Password" option when resetting patron password
When using the "Reset Password" option on a patron's account, it would be very useful to have a checkbox option to display the password that is being typed instead of a series of dots. By obscuring the password when typing we have found that our staff may accidentally leave caps lock on or type something incorrect - they would like the option to see what they are typing in these fields. remove notification for cancelled items
It would be nice if from the staff side in Polaris and LEAP we could select whether to notify the patron if an item they placed on hold gets cancelled. Sometimes we have to cancel holds for various reasons and LEAP is often faster in notifying the patron with no context when their request was cancelled which can cause confusion for the patron. Staff should get the option of whether a patron gets notified or not and if possible, if we could have the option to add a message to the cancel notification they get.

Increase functionality of API with Overdrive
We would like to see additional information and functions available in the Polaris Client or LEAP so that staff have more resources and information to support customers with questions about online resources.
For example, library staff would benefit from seeing real-time hold information in Polaris about items on Overdrive or Hoopla. Currently, Polaris shows an asterix (*) under holds. Library staff need to either go to the PAC or Overdrive to provide customers with this information. Reassociate POLIs and INVLIs with correct bib
Allow POLIs and INVLIs to be moved by staff with the correct permissions to a different bib than they were ordered on.
We regularly order something that the vendor record matches to an ISBN in our catalog - sometimes this is because we have multiple ISBNs on a bib but the record is for a particular version, sometimes (mostly with AV) it is because the UPC has not been assigned as unique (rated and unrated versions, for example).

Add Notes to a Hold
Often library staff place requests on specific items and need to follow-up when the item is returned (check condition, re-label, compare copies of title, replace, discard, etc.). Our previous ILS supported a hold notes field that would display the saved note when the item was checked out. This reminded staff of why they had requested the item, or would let another staff member know what needed to be done with the item when the hold was filled. Make Leap check-in screen sortable by column headers
Allow users to sort checked-in items by clicking on the column headers on the check-in screen in Leap.
Library staff double check their work by counting the number of items on their check-in cart and comparing it with the item count displayed on the check-in screen. If there is a discrepancy, being able to sort the columns would help staff more easily find items that didn't get checked in properly.
Also, please add a call number column to the check-in screen.

Reading History: Make page length customizable and allow search across pages
Patrons with a large number of items in their reading history have a hard time searching it due to pagination. It would be helpful if the amount of items per page were customizable (and with that the max number of pages). Even better if there was a search option that could find items in the reading history across paged data.

Ability to mark an item Missing from the Unclaimed Picklist.
Scenario:
1. An item that has been trapped and is (most often) sent from another library to fill a hold for pickup at another branch.
2. The Hold is put on the shelf for the customer at a branch.
3. After X days, it shows up on the Unclaimed list.
4. Staff go to the shelf to remove it, but it is not there.

More chances for automatic renewals
Right now, automatic renewals happen 3 days before the due date. If the item someone has out is supposed to fill a hold for someone else then it never automatically renews even if another item ends up filling that hold. There should be a schedule for automatic renewals to occur 3 days, 2 days, 1 day, before the item is due and the day the item is due so there are multiple opportunities for that item to automatically renew in the event that a hold gets filled by another library and that item is now eligible for renewal again. Find tool - additional columns on a Bibbliographic Search for Series name and volume
