  1. Spine Label Queues are only available in the current session and do not save. We are able to print spine labels (sheet or continuous) from Create Lists, but cannot apply print templates with this function. Can we either have the option to apply print templates when wanting to print batches of labels via Create Lists and/or have the option to hold on to our spine label queues for more than just the current session?

  2. Collection and circulation analytics would improve if we could import Create Lists item/bib search results into Decision Center.

    If so, Decision Center could aggregate Create Lists results (searches based on authorities, orders, or hold/patron circulation behaviours) to provide circulation and collection statistics.

    Our libraries would be satisfied for this import to display the fields that are in the “high”/ “low” circulation weeding reports.

    We understand that the aggregated statistics in Decision Center are generated the night before.

  3. In circtrans and finespaid views (and maybe more views) there are several dates that are showing a value of 0 (which displays as 1969-12-31 due to UNIX date formatting).

    Dates do not have a value of 0, they can however, have a value of NULL, which is already how things work with other dates in the system, like the bib record cataloguingdategmt.

    This should be fixed for any dates in the system, not because anyone may or may not vote for it, but because it is both inaccurate and inconsistent.

  5. In the SDA OR Sierra Web, the Sierra 2-tier login workflow allows administrators to set a "time-out" setting to the 2nd tier (personalized) login. This setting determines if the session will time out or close after a specific amount of time.

    This is an excellent workflow except that there is no setting to manage 1st tier inactivity. This means at the end of the day we have many Sierra licenses that remain open and the Library must manually force close the desktop applications using the "restart a process" in Admin Corner.

  7. Our Acquisitions staff does not use List Price when ordering, & is hoping that Estimated Price could be modifiable via Rapid Update. At the moment, this would help them modify 200+ order records, which they now have to do manually.

  9. We've had a couple of instances where the Encore 'Did you mean?' suggestions have offered up inappropriate alternatives to the search that was performed.

    The first example was that it suggested 'sex manuals' when a search for 'car manuals' was performed.

    The second example was that it suggested 'American poets' when a search for 'African poets' was performed, to which our client took offense at.

    We would like to see some functionality added to Encore that would allow us to customise what suggestions display and what do not display for the 'did you mean' algorithm. This would allow us to…

  11. We have a floating collection and use Decision Center to manage our collection. We need to know what is on the shelf OR not on the shelf at multiple sites. To do this, we use excel pivot tables to manipulate the "low circulation weeding reports". I have attached the workflow and the result.

    After pivoting the "low circulation weeding reports" (searching for items that have circulated less than 300 times in 1 month at multiple branches) our result includes everything on the shelf at multiple branches. The pivot table allows us to identify which titles are at a branch AND…

  12. Part of the homebound module is to add ratings to checked in items for the patron.
    The rating data for the Homebound module is not kept in the Sierra SQL database, but rather in a separate log which is used to create the Homebound Patron Report so it cannot be accessed through Sierra Direct SQL Access. It would be nice if the ratings were more accessible in the SQL tables. Thanks.

  13. Currently there are no alerts when indexing stops working. We would like to see some put in place.

    We recently had our keyword indexing stop working. It wasn't completely obvious to us for few months that there was a problem with indexing as it didn't seem to be every record.

    Having an alert to III would save time troubleshooting if it's a metadata problem and raising tickets for something that could have an alert on it.
