Expand the Literary Form Facet to Include Audiobooks with LitText Coding I am requesting an enhancement to add LitText to the Literary Form facet, as audio materials are currently not represented. Audio materials that contain Literary Text (LitText) coding should be included in the Literary Form facet to provide a complete and consistent discovery experience. Including these titles would improve patron access by allowing users to accurately filter and find fiction and nonfiction audiobooks that match their interests, while also supporting reader's advisory efforts and reducing staff time spent locating materials manually. Currently, the exclusion of audio materials results in…

Grid view for showcase content
Patrons have noted that when showcases feature a large number of items, they find it frustrating to navigate the full showcase Library List display. Several have asked about whether an option to switch to a grid view can be added, similar to the option that is available to them in the search results.
Example: Showcases generated from ILS lists (e.g. Create Lists in Sierra) often contain a large number of items. When a user clicks View All on a showcase carousel, or clicks on a showcase collage, the amount of scrolling to peruse the Library List of items becomes a…

on shelf at location.multi : bib locations should be mapped to bib records
We have 39 branches. Our magazines are fixed to one location. In Encore, the bib location mapped to the bib record so that library users knew where the magazines were located. Now, we just see the message: "on shelf at location.multi". This behaviour is not what customers want. They want to see the specific branch locations.
I have attached an example below.

Sort volumes by number, not by digit
When placing a hold on a title with multiple volumes, a screen pops up asking "Which Volume/Issue Would You Like To Request?". The volumes are then sorted by digit rather than numerically. So, for example, Vega Discover sorts as follows:
12
11
109
108
107
106
105
104
103
102
101
100
10
1(see attached screenshot for example)
This makes it more difficult for the patron to go right to the volume they would like to request.
It would be better to sort numerically:
103
102
101
100
99
98

Search name of showcase
Ability to search the name of a showcase. (This is similar to a feature BiblioCore has where patrons can type "new dvds" and retrieve a pre-limited search results). So, this would enable libraries to create a showcase called New DVDs, and patrons would be able to easily find those materials.

Change Position of Passthrough Source Links in Search Results
Change the position of passthrough source links to a row below "## results found for {keyword}".
The current position of the findFrom text and passthrough source links does not leave much space for more than a few words. The responsive behavior of the findFrom text is to disappear on small screens. This makes it difficult to convey the purpose of the passthrough source link. If the link has an entire row there will be adequate space for descriptive text on all devices.
The screenshot shows the desired position.

Showcase metadata and management
We have a number of different staff creating and updating Showcases across our system. Currently, it is getting difficult to manage this as staff are beginning to duplicate each other's work and it is difficult to know which showcases are current and which are scheduled or embedded somewhere. When adding Showcases to Vega Homepage, it is impossible to distinguish between two showcases with the same name since no details display other than the title in the home page editor.
Please consider adding some features to improve showcase maintenance and management:
ability to add a staff note to a showcase which…

Add Polaris's "Street 2" field to address display in Account Portal
The current "address" information in the Account Portal consists of the Street 1 field from Polaris on the top line and the City, State, and ZIP fields grouped on the second line. Our library uses Street 2 for apartment numbers and would like the option to display Street 2 in account portal so that patrons don't think part of their address is missing from our records.

Vega Admin setting to restrict patron code access to third-party content
Offer a setting in Vega Admin to restrict access to third-party content (e.g., CloudLibrary) by patron code, such as controlling visibility and/or buttons to place holds and checkout.
Problem
The vendor records are ingested into Vega, but access restrictions enforced in the vendor’s app and website are not applied in Vega. As a result, certain patron codes can still place holds and check out digital items. When they visit the vendor's app/website, they are not granted access to the item. These patron codes:
Are not permitted to access our digital library (e.g., CloudLibrary).
Are permitted to use the catalog and…8 votes -
Have Vega pull literary form from 655 fields or 6xx $v subfields, instead of 006/16.
This would provide for significantly more flexibility and allow for the use of more modern genre/form terms, such as 'graphic novels'.

Location info/filtering in account portal?
A patron was interested in being able to filter their bookmarked items by location in addition to Availability, i.e. to see at what location(s) the bookmarked items are available.

Sort Serial Holdings With Latest Issue at Top
We'd like Vega to sort the volumes in a serial holdings display with the latest issues at the top for easy patron access.
For example, we have People magazine, with hundreds of items in our holdings. With the PAC display, the lastest issues are listed at the top, descending from there by date, so patrons can easily see what the latest issue is that we have and can quickly place a hold (see attached file "pac-request-list" screenshot). Vega seems to sort oldest-to-newest, so the user will have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the list to find…

E-resources: Remove "Note" if more than one link
We're very happy to see the full text being displayed for multiple links when clicking "Access Online" - however we would also like to see in cases where there are multiple links for the "Note" field to be removed. It currently only displays the label for the first link, obfuscating our other sources.

Vega Admin - Allow systemwide closure date with adjustments
When setting up closure dates, it would be helpful to offer an option to setup a systemwide closure date (may be adjusted for each location).
As a single library system, we only occasionally close an individual location; most closures would apply to all locations.
Some closures may be need to be adjusted, such as a systemwide closure for a hurricane and turn off each location's closure as we reopen the buildings.

Vega Admin - Library Info Widget to organize closure dates
When updating the Vega Admin closure dates for locations, the dates seem to be fixed in the order that they were created. It would be helpful to sort these by either date added or date of closure.
It would also be helpful to automatically hide the closure dates in the past. This is beneficial in our other platforms, including Library Market, our website calendar with Granicus, our Google Business pages, etc.

search showcases by author and title
We have recently had the need for Showcase Admins to search all of our showcases by author. This can happen when libraries suddenly want to remove or add an author to a number of showcases, but don't know if they are already a part of that showcase.
We tried using the author record for this purpose, but authors can be associated with hundreds of resources so this is not a practical way to search for this data.
This can be a delicate issue for libraries as authors can suddenly appear in the news for various reasons and they need to…

Add an integrated Book Tips feature
We would like to propose for a new feature to be developed that our librarians can use to publish book tips directly on our Vega Discover homepage.
Ideally, on the homepage a title image can be displayed with a short, descriptive blurb written by the librarian and clicking it would lead to the actual a dedicated Book Tips page where the full entry is displayed, as well as earlier entries. The destination page itself can either be fully integrated part of into Vega Discover itself or link out to an a customizable external website URL (the URL should in that…

Vega: Cover link at top of series' search results
The series covers, information, and linkage that are available further down in search results make tracking specific volumes and placing holds accurately much easier. Unfortunately, many people don't like to scroll and if it's not up top they don't see it, don't use it, and become annoyed. It would be great if a "See full series" link showed at the top of the scroll and took them down to the appropriate information.

Adding patron notes to fines and fees section
We would like the ability to post notes in the fines and fees section of the patron account to alert patrons of exceptions (in PayPal) when paying via credit card. There is confusion when payment do not go through and there is no reason given (void, incorrect credit card number entered, American Express not accepted...)

Overdrive eContent integration in Vega Discover should work if libraries use SIP2 (barcode + PIN) for Overdrive patron authentication
Libraries that use SIP2 (requiring barcode and PIN) for Overdrive authentication have found that eContent Integration with Overdrive fails when enabled in Vega Discover. Customers cannot borrow or reserve Overdrive titles directly from Vega because Overdrive requires both barcode and PIN for the checkout process, and Vega Discover cannot send the Patron's PIN (it is encrypted in Sierra and not available to send).
Admittedly, expecting Vega to send encrypted patron PINs to Overdrive when the patron is already authenticated in Vega is an unrealistic and unsafe idea. Innovative support have already said that this issue is primarily a limitation of…9 votes
