Add a "view all" option to the Site Configuration page in the Library Defaults menu
In a consortium environment the admin staff will often have to make changes to every library in its system. Having the option to view all the libraries in one page instead of 10 at a time. The addition of having the option to "open in a new tab" when right-clicking the Edit button under actions would be helpful as well to keep organized as the current system of going back to the Library Defaults page can sometimes cause confusion when navigating back to the next library.

Showcases should retain bib type focus
When building a Showcase using the "Create from ILS List" function, the resulting list should float the bib type used to create the list to the top for display.
For example, I've created a list of new DVDs and have built a showcase based on that list. The resulting showcase defaults to displaying the Blu-ray tab. Add a URL option that opens the Patron Login popup but sends the patron to search or home page after login.
We are using the "Link to Patron Accounts" URL options from the documentation to send our patrons to the Login Popup when they link to login to their account. Documentation: https://documentation.iii.com/vega/admin/admin/Link_to_patron_accounts.htm
When we do this their profile screen, checkouts, holds, etc displays automatically. These screens should be visible only when selected by the customer. This is especially problematic when a customer is logging into their account in a public area. It is a privacy issue.6 votes -

We were able to do this is Encore/WebPAC using scoping and the location codes. This is a critical feature that Vega is missing for Sierra customers, please bring this functionality back.

Cover Art for Rollups
With multiple records rolling up, sometimes the default cover art image isn't necessarily the most appropriate (i.e. showing a very specific version of Hamlet that not all libraries own rather than a more generic version). Since Vega is pulling the cover art from the record with the most recent copyright/publishing date, the only way to prevent an image from populating is to falsify the 020 in the most recent record (I've been in touch with Syndetics about this). Titles for Deleted Items in Reading History
In the public catalog, titles in your reading history will say “Resource is not available” if the record has been deleted. In Leap, you can still see the titles, but it will tell you the resource is not available when you click on it. It would be great if Vega Discover could be set up like the staff interface so customers could see what the titles are even after the records have been deleted.

Change the website title of Passcode Reset webpage in Vega
To avoid potential patron confusion the ability to change the Vega website title from Welcome to Vega to something specific to your library when opening the Forgot My Passcode link would be helpful. For example, it might read "Library Name/Abbreviation Passcode Reset," which should eliminate any doubts about the nature of the webpage.

Correctly Incorporate ISBD Punctuation in Title display
This is a problem that impacts AACR2 records, including a significant quantity of e-resources, government and vendor supplied bibliographic records>
Punctuation between subfields is treated as part of the subfield itself, causing irregularities in the display of several fields.

Select which titles display on a showcase carousel or collage
We've always used static image collages that mimic Vega's showcase carousels on our Vega Discover homepages. This approach helps us maintain a consistent visual style, especially when cover jackets occasionally appear that don’t match the look and feel we want to present in our catalog. Ideally, we’d love a way to feature specific titles in carousels—with the ability for them to drop off automatically once they're no longer relevant—while still ensuring the layout stays cohesive. Add shelf location to library holdings for each edition
We would like to have the option to include the shelf location for each item that is listed within each edition. It is much easier to identify when an item is, for example, a New item when a patron happens to be looking at holdings in this way.

Ability to sort related resources
Can we add a sort option to the related resources?
Ideally after selected "related resources" we would like to see the facets - but if there are no facets, can we add the same sort drop down options to this section that we see after we perform a basic search?
Discovery is a good thing - but seeing thousands of titles with no way to discover those titles is frustrating for everyone.

Ability to suppress English (US)
In the Localization settings configuration page, all languages listed can be selected or unselected except for English (US). Although we can make a different one the default, for those countries wanting to have a different English option (CA in our case), we have no option but having two English languages listed in the drop down menu. We would like to be able to suppress the English (US) option.

Display all 520 fields in record, not just the first one
We have many titles that are collections of multiple titles, such as Binge Boxes, that are cataloged with multiple 520 (summary) fields to cover all the titles contained in the set. However, only the first MARC 520 summary field displays in Vega, which is difficult for customers who are trying to find all titles contained in the collection. The table of contents is buried in "edition information--details", which is very small and not obvious to the average customer, so they often don't know what titles the collection contains. Allow Vega Discover to accept initials or partial names in author searches.
Patrons and staff wonder why Vega Discover requires them to type the author’s full name and doesn’t use a wildcard, for example, to extrapolate the end of the author’s name. The current search only works if the author name matches exactly.
For example, if someone is searching for books by Daniel Kalla:

Library Info Dropdown - address wrap
Currently, addresses in the Library Info widget wrap text, as opposed to having line breaks like a proper address. I.e. in the images, the one labelled "Carbon edit" is how we want it to show up, but it shows up as seen in "Carbon widget". Additionally, words are also wrapping when they shouldn't be in other areas, as seen in the image of "Keg River widget". We would like this to display in the same way that it looks in the editor.

Vega All Menu
Clicking on All Menu to get to All Links, displays an unattractive view with a big block of dark screen. Is it possible to get rid of this block of dark screen or make it visually more appealing.

Make it easier to add a single title to more than one showcase.
Improve the staff function for creating bookmark lists to make it easier to add a title to multiple lists without increasing clicks required for adding a title to one list or remove a title from a list.

Add COPPA to patron registration
Currently when someone applies through our Vega link (which goes to PowerPAC) for a library card and their name matches an existing cardholder, they get the following error message: "A patron with this name is already registered. Please contact the library for clarification."
It would be helpful if other fields could be cross-checked for duplicates, not just the first and last names. We receive numerous reports of this monthly from staff across the consortium, but we have no sense of how often it's actually happening.8 votes
