Staff user accounts: add library/organization field
To manage staff accounts across a consortium, we need to be able to associate users with each other by library. It would be very useful to have a piece of metadata for staff accounts that identifies which library(ies) they work for.
This would:
1. Make it easier to filter users when looking at the long list of all users.
2. Let people have control over the showcases created by others in their organization but not the entire system - currently, we can't let librarians publish their own showcases because we don't want them to have consortia-level control to all showcases.…10 votes -

Display More Note (5XX) Fields
Note fields include useful information that is meant to be displayed to users. This information helps users decide if the resource described is relevant to their needs.
A subtitle that appears only on the cover of a book might only appear in a 500 note. A note might specify that a resource is a reprint of an earlier publication or give the original title of a translation, just to name a few examples.
Most notes are repeatable, so all instances of these MARC fields should display when there are multiple. Currently, only the first 505 (Contents note) displays.

Add checkboxes to Checkouts view so patrons can select items to renew
We think it is very important to provide patrons the option to Select Items to Renew, which would display checkboxes in front of each item for the patron to select multiple checkboxes to renew together.

Maintain Custom URL During Password Resets etc.
We use a custom URL search.bccls.org that patrons are accustomed to. When they go to do a password reset or other account related things they are redirected to the na4 URL which causes concern. We would like to submit an idea that custom URLs remain consistent throughout the Vega Discover experience.

Show format icons in admin instead of the word "default"
It would be much more helpful for us if we saw the current default icons for each format type when we look at the "ILS Material Type to Work Level Roll Up Mapping" chart (see attached). We have no way of knowing what the "default" icon is for some of these formats, so we would have to do a search one by one in grid view to see what each format is by default. Export reading history
Our customers want the ability to export their reading history. There should be options in the format it comes out in, including csv/excel.
They want this because they keep their own records due to our titles getting deleted after withdrawal, so their Vega list is no longer accurate for all their reading.

Index volume record statements to be searchable
It has been requested to index volume record statements to be searchable as it was in Encore. We have local generic bibliographic records that to input alternate titles or other added entries in the bib record would not appropriate; however, if volume statements were searchable, patrons and library members alike could locate desired resources.

Auto-apply facet selections
Currently, you have to select "Apply" for limiting your search with facets. Most websites these days automatically apply filters/facets, making auto-apply something our patrons are used to using.

Editable Patron Profile Fields - Edit AND/OR Add
Currently, when you allow patrons to edit patron profile fields like Email address, phone numbers, etc., you can Edit and Add. We don't want our patrons to Add in some cases, like Email, because when the patron does this in Vega, that means an additional z-tagged field in the record. Until Vega allows LX notices to go to more than 1 z-tagged field, we don't want patrons adding one and then wondering why they didn't get the notice to the e-mail address they just added. Add a Search Filter for Game Platforms to Vega
The filter options that are currently available in Vega don't allow patrons to search by video game platform. We would like to see a new filter or a subfilter for the Format facet that would allow users to refine the search results by console/platform. In our catalog a game like Overcooked, which has multiple editions for Nintendo Switch, XBox, and PlayStation consoles, brings up 14 different results that a patron would need to click into to find the platform for each. Let Vega use information from order records in ILS.
As of now Vega doesn´t look at the order records in the ILS. We have set the system to allow holds on bib-records with no items attached for books. That in turn displays "On order" in Vega. This method has some complications but works for the most part since there usually are orders on these bibs. But we would like it to also display how many items are ordered. It helps inform our patrons if it´s worth placing a hold on the title.

Song title
We need to be able to search by song title when searching for music cds or for sheet music books.
It also its hard not be able to see the track listing for compilation albums (the Now cds for instance).

Perpetual Search Bar
Keep the search bar throughout ALL Discover pages. Similar to Google or any search engine - it should always be at the top and would make searching more convenient because it would avoid having to navigate back to the home page of the catalog.

Add 'fully supported' collection site dropdown list option
We would like there to be a 'fully supported' option to add a collection site dropdown list, not simply documentation to do it ourselves with the caveat that Innovative can't be responsible for whether or not it works. I've included a screenshot that shows how it actually doesn't work well on mobile, and we aren't able to do much about that. However, if there were a fully supported dropdown option, I think it's safe to assume it would be optimized for mobile use as well. This is what we would want.

Add the ability to mask one of the locations listed on patron account in Vega
When a patron is logged into Vega on their My Bookshelf profile, three options are displayed under location. We would like the ability to mask either Home Library or Registered Library Branch. Both options are usually the same for our patrons so we would like the ability to mask one of these options to avoid confusion. See the attached photo of the three current locations displayed when a patron is viewing their profiles in Vega.

Improve Hero carousel scheduling
It is great to have the ability to schedule content for Vega Home Page. This could be even better if scheduling for Hero Carousel elements was more flexible. Ideally, it would be nice to be able to schedule individual Hero images to be added and removed from the carousel independently.
I would like to be able to schedule the hero block to display always (or for a defined period) and then assign dates for different images included to be added and removed within it independently.

Have Create MARC Extraction Request default selection be "New or Updated Since" not "All Records"
The current default selection for a MARC extraction is "All Records". If a user clicks submit by accident, this can take hours to complete. Default selection should be changed to " New or Updated Since <today's date>" as that is a faster extraction (and probably more used)

Bring back autofilling the 'Showcase block title'.
Recently this was fixed in Vega intentionally, however this auto-filling used to save our staff time in their weekly tasks. Ideally when you select a showcase, the title would be auto populated into the 'Showcase block title' box. Instead, it remains unchanged from the previous showcase. In the page preview, the showcase itself successfully changes (the books reflect the new selection), but the title doesn't update. This means our staff must type in the title each time.

Standardize/improve the buttons and options at the top of search results
I know the information display on search result cards has been discussed for re-designing to make it easier for casual users. I hope that will extend to the information and buttons that live under the search bar but before the results as well.
In our catalog, customizations like the text strings and Vega guides have made it busier admittedly, but I would like the text sizes, button shapes, colours, and/or selectability indicators to be more consistent and arranged in a way that is more intuitive for navigation (easier said than done I know).
