Add Library Level to Hold Pickup Limit
Currently, a library may limit an item to be holdable for pickup at a single branch location. This setting allows the item to be limited to pick up at the item's assigned branch only. While this feature may work for single-branch libraries, it does not function in a practical way for multi-branch libraries. Expanding this feature to have a library-level option would increase the usability of this setting.
Example 1: Library A has 3 branches. They want to make their mobile hotspots holdable for pickup at any of their 3 branches. They do not want their hotspots to be placed…

Provide easy way to convert item level holds to bib level
We teach staff that, except in very rare cases, they should always be placing bib level holds for customers but sometimes folks make mistakes. It would be great there was a check box option in Leap to convert a customer's item level hold to a bib level hold while retaining their position in the queue. Currently, if a staffer places an item level hold in error, to fix it, they have to place a new bib level hold and then use the checkbox and arrows in the queue to move them from last position (for example, 453) to their former…

Suppress "Place Request" button in PAC for bibs where all items are non-holdable
The way the PAC currently works, the three buttons on the right of each search result (Availability, Full Display, and Place Request) always appear if the bib is for a physical item, but only "Full Display" appears for e-resources. This indicates that the PAC already has the capability to suppress these buttons if conditions specific to the search result are met. It would be helpful if this ability could be expanded so that if all the items attached to a bib record for a physical item are not holdable, the "Place Request" button does not appear. The appearance of that…

Include Shelf Location in responsive view of Item Record Sets in Leap
When an item record set is viewed on a tablet or mobile device in Leap, the record set layout changes to accommodate the change in screen size. This includes the Shelf Location column no longer displaying. Staff create item record sets for displays and when they go out into the stacks with Leap on a tablet to pull the items, not having the Shelf Location included slows them down as they have to open the item records individually.

Leap: MARC Import profile should select default file
In the staff client, we can set a default file for a particular import profile. When that import profile is used, the file is already selected and we don't have to search for it. We'd like this same thing in Leap, but currently aren't able to set a default file and have to search for it every time.
Idea Value
This would prevent having to search for the exact same file every time when importing. It would save time, is more efficient, and already works well in the staff client.38 votes -
Add the Ad Hoc Bulk Change Button to POs and Invoices in Leap
Acquisitions staff frequently need to bulk change item records for a specific order. This is commonly done for orders that were placed manually instead of using EDI or if Polaris created item records using the wrong template. In the Client, it can efficiently be done as an ad hoc bulk change by opening the list of items that are linked to a PO or invoice. The ad hoc bulk change button should be added to the tab that contains the list of item records linked to the PO and Invoice in Leap in order to make this process more efficient.…

Authority record cross references should be searchable during a keyword bibliographic record search
In the Polaris client the bibliographic keyword index does not include or link to terms found in the cross reference fields (4XX & 5XX) of authority records, essentially making these references useless during a keyword search. These additional terms within authority records should be indexed in the bib record index for better, accurate search results.
The only way to access "SEE" references (4XX) during a bibliographic search is to choose a specific index (search by Author, for example) and change "type" to "Browse" rather than keyword, phrase, or exact match search.
For example, the actor Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor's name authority heading…

Weeding template "older than" criteria should be based on first available date not creation date
To truly determine whether an item is "older than" a certain time frame for the weeding criteria in our consortium, it should be based on First available date, not Creation date. Many of our libraries add the item record when the item is ordered, which could be months before it actually releases, and they make the status either Being Acquired or In-Process until it's received and checked in, which updates its First available date at that point. Then the item actually begins its "life span" so to speak. So the item isn't truly "older than" a certain time frame until…

Bulk update held until dates
The ability to bulk change Held Until dates would allow library staff to perform this task themselves in a timely manner, rather than having to submit a ticket to Innovative.

More match point for POLIs with on-order item templates (including Item Template ID)
We would like the ability to match POLIs with on-order item templates on more data points, specifically shelf location, statistical code, and call number prefix. I expect that this means there would need to be extra fields to enter the POLI, and that would work out fine if that enabled the item records to be created accurately.
Our libraries use different shelf locations, statistical codes, and call number prefixes for items within the same collection. When placing an order, items are created from the on-order item templates, and only match on 3 data points: assigned branch, collection, and material type.…

Update the "canned reports" in Reports -> Notices and SSRS
There are multiple reports in the "canned reports" available through the Staff Client and through SSRS that deliver incomplete and/or absolutely wrong data.
For instance, the Patron Register report only looks at extant patrons in the Polaris database right now. That means that, if a library had a patron purge, those patrons are gone. If one runs a Patron Register report after the purge for a time before the purge, the registration numbers will absolutely be wrong. This would also be true where patron merges or general cleanups have taken place.
Another report, Circulation by Postal Code has a logic…

Add a copy button to supplier records in Leap
The ability to copy existing records makes record creation more efficient. In the Client, staff have the ability to copy an existing supplier record to create another one with similar information. This happens when staff have multiple supplier records for the same vendor because they have separate account numbers. A copy button is not in the supplier record workform in Leap yet. It should be added to the actions drop-down menu of the supplier record like it is in other record types. This will allow staff to feel like the transition to Leap will be easier since it is a…

Add ability to remove vendors
We have a long list of vendors and would like to clean it up, removing any who we no longer purchase from. This can't be done because of the links and layers in Acquisitions to attached purchase orders and invoices. It would help with clutter if there was a way to delete these suppliers or hide them in some way.

When patron barcode changes, auto-update with Libby
Currently when a patron replaces their library card and gets a new barcode, staff have to manually reconnect them with their Libby account, which is connected to their old card number. This update should be automated so that patrons who lose their library cards don't also lose access to Libby or other eResources. I'm not sure if this would require an update to the API (?)

Return to where you were in your record set list after closing an item record from the record set
When I am working in a long record set and open an item record and then close it again, it returns me to the top of the record set. I would really like it to return me to where I was in the list to more easily continue my work.

No longer require carrier when selecting TXT
As libraries move away from using gateways to send text messages we would like to make the wireless carrier field optional.

Add Rapid Receipt to Leap
Currently, there is only one way to receive and invoice orders in Leap. This workflow consists of receiving the line item from the purchase order and copying it to the invoice. In the Client, staff have the option to use a more efficient process called Rapid Receipt. Rapid Receipt allows line items to be received and copied to the invoice at the same time. In our consortia, a significant amount of libraries use Rapid Receipt. They are concerned that it has not been added to Leap yet. Since Rapid Receipt is available in the Client, the same functionality should be…

Weeding template criteria should include Last circ date option
In our consortium, libraries weed items based on their circulation almost exclusively, not based on how new or old they are or how many lifetime circs they had. The most important piece of information to them, the Last circ date, however, is missing from the weeding template criteria. We are aware that you can add dates to the power search for inclusion criteria, but those have to be specific dates, so they can't be reused as criteria several months or years later - you'd have to continue remaking the criteria with new dates each time, which isn't convenient or efficient.…

PAC: Banner message for closures
Libraries need a way to quickly alert communities to closures during an emergency across all PAC pages. A banner appears across all pages of the PAC and is easily edited.

Enable floating limits for collection and material type simultaneously
As a multi-branch system that floats some of our collections, we desperately need a way to set limits on the number of copies on shelf without giving up our ability to set limits on overall floating collection size. Currently in Polaris you must choose one limit or the other. Being able to spread copies throughout our system makes them more available for discovery and increases circulation.
