  1. Alert patrons to their accounts expiring 30 days before expiration date.

    This would be extra helpful with 50% of our circulation being handled through self-check machines.

    This is an issue, especially with self-checkouts and the system using patron expiration date as the due date. Patrons are familiar with the check out times and do not pay attention to their expiration date and then they accumulate a fine.

  2. There's a need for different blocks within the Almost Due / Auto Renew notice.
    The top block should group all the items that failed to renew and are due soon. The second block should group all the items that renewed and are due later.

  3. The key functional feature of the notice templates are merge tags. When sending a test message, the most important thing you would want to be testing is whether merge tags are displaying correctly. However, since dummy data is used in the test notices, the test notices don't allow you to assess if your merge tags are working or not. It would be really nice if test emails could be sent with data pulled from the customer's ILS so we could see if our merge tags were working.

  5. The notices function is very useful, but limited. We are only able to communicate with patrons through Sierra on a few occasions. It would be wonderful to be able to send/print notices based on a review file. This way, we could communicate with patrons via Sierra for numerous reasons. My inspiration for this is to send notices just before a patron library account expires. Previously, we haven't had a standardized way to alert patrons to their impending expiration.

  7. Merge tags use different terminology than either Sierra or Polaris ILS. Create a key that maps merge tag names to the corresponding field in each of the two ILSes so that users can understand what data will be pulled when they insert a particular merge tag.

  8. It would be helpful if LX Starter allowed for patrons to receive checkout receipts via email. Sierra currently supports customizable checkout receipt emails using Due Slip print templates, but these are difficult to work with.

  9. LX Starter seems to be bringing over and storing most of the personal data from a patron's record whenever it sends them an email. (See screenshot attached.) Even though much of it is hashed, it raises 2 major concerns:

    1. why is LX Starter NOT treating all of this information, such as patron barcode and last 4 of phone number, as PII, since in many libraries this combo can be used to access patron records through the online catalog?

    2. why is it bringing over this additional information at all (address, phone, birthdate, etc.) when the only PII LX Starter should need…

  10. When a saved block is edited, we would like it to automatically update any templates using that saved block rather than having to go to each template and re-add the updated block to each template one by one.

  11. Add more default notice, such as econtent notification, ILL notice, Inactive patron and much more.

    Also the ability to copy a notice and edit to make a new notice.

  12. When we look at the notice information LX Starter backend, we should be able to see and download a copy of the notice sent to the patron.

    This would give you the ability to print out the notice if necessary - to either mail or hand the patron.

  13. LX Starter new role read-only user as Library Page able to view user statistics have access to all links Delivery Rate, Bounce Rate, Fail to Send and Marked as Spam and ability to correct those users only.
    Read-only user has No Access, Notice Settings, Edit Template, Publish Template, and All Library Settings in LX Starter.

  16. We've ran into difficulties trying to progressively clean up our bounces. Staff have to keep a google sheets to know what things have been corrected (unless they keep leap open as well and see if the patron has the "edited" in the notes). Would it be possible to evaluate some way to better manage the clean ups?

    One idea offered was a check box for Resolved (Thanks Amy Al-Shabibi)

  17. When testing the email workflow in LX Starter, the emails are currently sent from vega@iiivega.com. Instead, it would be better to send test emails from the actual email addresses configured for the library.

    This would more fully validate the end-to-end email process and catch any issues before LX Starter is live, as reliable email delivery is critical.

    Benefits:

    1. Tests the full email process from the library's email address
    2. Catches email issues before product launch
    3. Validates reliability of email workflow before sending emails to patrons.

    Suggested Implementation:

    1. Update the LX Starter email test feature to send from the configured library…

  18. I'd like to request that LX Starter change the icon associated with missing DVD cover art to something that represents that the item is a movie. Currently, when DVD artwork is not available, LX Starter is subbing in an icon which shows a silhouette of a book.

  20. Limit the number of soft bounces to 2 and then it becomes a hard bounce. Patrons with email soft bounces, are not getting any notifications. Hold Notices are negatively effecting our customer service since patrons only have 5 days to pick up the item and they are not receiving the notice. The suggestion to manually monitor and update bounced emails is time consuming and requires daily staff time which is already limited. When larger library systems move to LX Starter, this could be potentially thousands of emails to monitor.

    Please consider limiting soft bounces ASAP.
