  1. We could use a report based on staff user and/or workstation listing all transactions made for a given date range. Most importantly for us, cataloging information which could provide date and time of bib records being created and/or modified as well as circulation information for staff who work the circ desk.

  2. Many screens in Leap are awash with 1px borders, which make it difficult to visually distinguish different areas of the system because of the "noise".

    While there are lots of ares for UI improvement across Leap, this one might be an easy win, as shown in the side by side screenshots.

In order to require patrons who are self-registering via the PAC to choose a notification preference, please remove the 'none' option from the Preferences dropdown, or at least allow for the option to customize what appears in the Preferences dropdown. By removing 'none' - or allowing for the option to remove it - patrons would effectively be required to provide a notification method, which would allow the library they are self-registering with to easily contact them should any problems arise with their application.

  4. If staff attempt to check out an item with an "unexpected" status, such as Withdrawn, Unavailable, or Missing the checkout fails, with an error message "unexpected item status." Staff must check the item in to change its status to Available, and then check it out. This breaks the flow of the checkout transactions and causes a delay for the patron. It would be very helpful if we could specify in System Administration which statuses cause a complete failure of the checkout (the current rule for all of these statuses), which cause a warning message that staff can override, and which…

  5. Reset Claim Count is currently all or nothing. We need the ability to reduce the claim count incrementally. This would help in situations where we actually find a bona fide claim return on our shelf for a customer who otherwise has a pattern of making false claims. We want to be able to clear that incident from the claim count without having to reset to zero.

  6. When some notice types are posted, they show up in the item record history. But not all notices show up there, for example, printed hold notices do not show up there. It is also difficult, for example, if you want to find out who printed a fine notice to be able to locate that information because it isn't always tied to an item record.

    This request is to add to the notice history information on the user and workstation that posted the notices to the database. There is very miniscule information in the notice history already.

    We have a customer here who is down on the Mobile Hotspot queue. I have noticed that several of the people above him on the queue currently have hot spots checked out already. It doesn't seem fair that those customers will get to have their hotspots potentially another three weeks before this other customer gets to borrow it.   9. When you are logging into Leap on a machine where you've already logged in, a cookie is set that pre-fills the Branch and workstation. However, you canNOT simply hit enter to continue through this screen because the focus is on the workstation drop down.

    This is a request to make it focus on the Continue button when you've already logged in on this browser to make the login process more seamless.

  11. Currently if a registration fee is charged or waived, it is applied to the patron's registered branch. I would like the option to have those listed under the transacting branch. For us this helps with accountability when running waive reports for cash reconciliation.

  12. Most of our libraries have changed their expiration date to 2 years. For new patrons this is fine, but for most existing patrons, their expiration date will still expire within the original 1 year expiration period. It would be helpful to be able to bulk update patron's expiration date, for a particular branch to a relative date. For example, 2 years from the date of registration.

  13. Our library has a program where we supply community members with books to read to classrooms. All readers receive the same set of 4-6 titles. While Polaris' function of placing everyone in a record set on hold for the same title helps, it would be great if, when the find tool pops up upon clicking Place Multiple Holds, you could change the database from Bibliographic to Record Set to simultaneously place all the customers in the patron record set on hold for all the titles in the bib record set.

  14. Currently, if I want to add series information for a book in the item record when I link it, I would need to put it in the volume field. It'd be nice if there was an easy way to indicate if a book is part of a series and where it falls in the series without it creating a super long call number.   15. In cleaning up bibliographic data after years of laissez faire cataloguing practice, we have run into a consistent stumbling block that requires us to backtrack. Certain bytes, especially in the 007 and 008 fields appear to require consistency across them to properly read at an item level (we became aware of this when getting red toasts scanning items for a weeding record set, that appeared initially to be in the inclusion criteria).

  16. Could we have it so the close button within the Patron Registration follows you as you scroll down like the "Save", "Renew", etc do? I often find myself nowhere near the top when I am done with a customer account and have to navigate all the way back up just to close the record. I could see this also being useful in Bib records

  17. It would help speed things up if the way we can filter by Active and Inactive patrons for Outreach could also be done with the Patron Selection Only checkbox with something like a yes/no drop down. We could more easily focus on patrons that need the extra attention.

  18. Adding the ability to add / update the Polaris username field as an alternative barcode for students/patrons would be hugely beneficial in the import process. This would allow us to have a student ID as a barcode and a former library barcode for patrons to use at the expresscheck.

  19. Make it easier for staff to quickly view the borrowing history of an item by including a column that shows the customer's name. Having to click on the PATRONID is meaningless to staff and an additional unnecessary click.

  20. If Simply Reports had a Hold History report, where you could enter a Bibliographic Record ID and then see the history of hold requests created for that bibliographic record -- it would be most helpful when trying to see why an item wasn't automatically renewed, or was blocked from renewing.
